I know reincarnation has been discussed before on this forum, but I would like to post my own question, whether it has been asked before or not. Do, or can, we decide how we will reincarnate into a new life after dieing in a past life. Many religions have their own explanations for reincarnation, but I've had an idea that I've been eager to explore and possibly create my own personal theory out of. The idea came to me earlier in my childhood, and this idea was that we choose our characteristics, our way of living, our social status, how much wealth we would have, etc in our next life. Back whenever I came up with this idea, I created my own set of "life" directions that I suspected I had, or would have, chosen for myself. These life directions have now became principles, or quite possibly a set of rules, I have started to live by. Along with brainstorming this idea, I have happened upon prophecies and other related writings on spirits that choose to reincarnate to further the physical world's enlightenment and advancement (quite frankly derived from Eager Cayce's psychic predictions, but not from any particular source). Eager Cayce said that Atlantians reincarnated into the world to help us along in our future to wards an enlightening era. If this is correct, in any form, than people who are in the spirit world, after dieing in a past life, choose to reincarnate in the modern world. I do not believe or even hope that the idea of choosing who, what, or how we reincarnate is original, but I just remembered the idea I had and wanted to explore more into the concept of "a past us" choosing to reincarnate into what we are today for some purpose.
- I've tried to convey my idea and I hope you can understand what I am trying to convey.

You are absolutely right. We do choose how and when we will come back. Our decision is made in the spiritual realm and is based on what lessons we have yet to learn. If you are really interested in this I suggest you look up Many Lives Many Masters by Dr. Brian Weiss. He goes into much detail on this subject. Also Messages from the Masters is a good read too (by the same author). I have read both of these books and am in the process of getting his other books to read.
I have always been interested in the idea of reincarnation and reading Many Lives Many Masters has really helped and follows my own personal thoughts I have had since childhood. Since reading these books I have noticed myself less stressed and worried about miniscule things. There just isn't enough time in this lifetime to worry and be stressed.

I was going to suggest the same books Anise I have been brought up beleiving in reincarnation, my mother put me onto the books. Yes the books, they are life altering, Watch your dreams after reading these books, They are wonderfully enlightening I have also read Many Edgar Casey books as well, he was an asset to the world. I also beleive in his concept of Atlantis, Have you tried Shirley Maclaine, Dancing in the light. Any of her books are a wonderful read, She also has a high regard to Edgar Casey. She also touches quite a bit on the Masters, and reincarnation. She is a show woman ,but her books reflect someone different, Just an ordinary person searching for answers. She also has the money to travel the world to gain the answers, a very interesting journey.( she is also a big beleiver in Karma past life and present) I have a theory of many planes, i dont know how many to be exact just other planes and we choose what plane, what gender, what entities we want to associate with, type of riches we have, etc etc.. depending on the lessons that we choose to learn. or need to learn. I do beleive the entities we are familiar with in this lifetime have been with us many times. and will continue to be. I also have had this concept floating around since childhood. I think you are on the right track for sure. Dancing Bear

I'm no expert when it comes to this subject, haven't read many books that I could suggest, nor can I say how long we spend between "planes". But I do Know this with all my being, we do choose to come "back" to the "living" from time to time. There is a place where "we" come from, and there is one that "we" go to after life. Now what we choose to become in the "next" life isn't explainable... "you" are what "you" are no matter what your form. Each life form has its pros and cons, to take whatever form is to learn what it is to be that life-form to apply those lessons to your soul. That's how I "see" it anyway....

There is one thing I've been wondering about lately. There are some people who believe that you choose everything you experience even before you are born, but those same people say they believe in creating your own reality and if there is something about your reality you don't like then you can change it. So if a person changes what they are experiencing, are they interfering in what they chose to do in the first place. Or do you feel that there are any amount of things to choose from and ways for your life to go and you really don't know before your born exactly what will be taking place in your life or what lesson you will be learning.

Hi Linda and everybody, I believe there is free-will. Of course we have choosed a certain amounts of things to do, but we all know that things keep coming repeatedly, especially if we dont get over them or dont learn the thing we should learn. So its coming back and back, maybe in other "clothes" but we feel its always the same lesson. So yes I believe that there are very fixed things we need to work out - but though the final outcome is free, very free. And because of this freedom it also is possible to turn our original goal into the opposit. If this final freedom wouldnt exist we just only would be machines, robots. Speaking about my personal life I can say that I know I have come to a certain growth, which I never have thought of, but not mentally spiritual growth, that rather was a gift or archieved before I feel, but my test of resistance to emotional and physical desires was the thing, not obviously but profoundly. But though the journey is not yet at the end and the proove also not. The challenges grow with the own growth I believe, and Im not sure if I could make the next step or if a next growth step really will be expected. So if someone would ask me right now I would say: Oh I have enough thank you, can I please rest now LOL. But though who knows.. the battle for deep inner love goes on, to love even the ones who do not seem to deserve it. To stay free of attachment, personal and emotionally. Yeah I would really love to be free, totally free, even of my want to be free. Untill now though these are only states and moments of freedom I could experience, nothing continuously. But at least my free mind helps me a lot in knowing that all this feelings and doubts are finally not real, not final truth. Final truth is peace and love in God, which our soul never was seperated from. lgn

If in your "past" you have zigged when you should have zagged, in your "furture" life you'll zag because you already know where to other path leads.....that make any sense?

hi bezjak, dont find zig or zag in the translator but I guess I know what ya mean lol.. yeeeeahs then.. but also because of the free-will you could say: we can zigg on as long as we want to.. may it be for centuries or aons or other time-dimensions long, maybe even we could choose to zigg endlessly lol.. cause this "creation-play" isnt meant to have a beginning or end, maybe beginning.. but an end??? Dont belive so..hm.. lgn

Now that you mention "free-will" I wonder....do we choose to come "back" because we cannot accept the pre-determined future that has been engraved on our collective souls. Are we maybe running from the truth, instead of to it. Must we be bound by the pre-conceived notions that have been funneled to us by beings other than ourselves. Are we truly free to abandon all boundaries, and cycles, free to create a place of peace where "we" reign supreme, and if so how would we do so?

I haven't read too much on reincarnation but I was wondering if that choice of being reincarnated revolves on how we live than what we think we want to be reincarnated as ? Is it our actions that predetermine what we will become rather than what we're missing within ourselves ? Although, it could be said that our actions our determinants of that lacking within ourselves and in conjunction indicate our understanding of it to whatever degree. Is it more a range of different lives that repeats itself over and over based on what we lack and what we have fulfilled in our present lives until we have immersed ourselves within the full range of everything that life can offer. Of course, life is ever changing and time moves ahead presenting a renewal of some things but at the same time giving us something different. I suppose the core of what we represent and who we are will never change. Or maybe, it is inherent to the very essence of who we are and cannot change.

I believe it is completely possible Kellyboy. When i first realised my skin was slightly darker than everyone else i was upset because i felt it should have been much darker. I still do!!, I do not know why ! have had this feeling since i was a kid. So maybe next one i actually get it right and get born into a darker race. As far as Planets are concerned there is a belief that there are whole universes out there full of life that we incarnate into.. So you never know..

Pretty cool thread here.
Great ideas.. and I think they are all right.
I know that a warrior chooses exactly when, and how, they will die. Though they must have a sufficent knowing built of where they are to go.
I have passed up chances to go, because of my fear, and so I believe I am not ready yet. I would like to have a strong knowing, and be void of fear, knowing that I will retain my awareness after stepping through the door. I would not wish this life to be forgotten, I believe there is great purpose here, and with retained awareness we could travel to and from every world we have gained awareness of. The fear that stopped me, is of doubt. Doubt is the clouder of will, and though it can be a great tool, I think it must not be present in the slightest bit, then we are ready to take that leap.
Personally I would like to spontaneously combust, then enter into paradise. A world I have created, or a world that is already in motion. Probably both..HA!

I think I'd like to go an old old duck in her 90's, preferable in my sleep. Only because I am nosey and want to hang around and find out all the Goss LOL!!! And i want to spend as much time with my kids and grandkids if i get any. Kind of a sentimental type

There are few limits to "where" or "when" you can be reincarnated to....there are to many possibilities, the multi-verse is huge, the life-forms endless, but that's quantum-physics in a nut-shell....as much as we might of hated it in school, in our most basic form we are numbers.( for we are many yet one.)
