For those who celebrate Sabbats and Esbats I have a question...
Having been studying the Sabbats recently while writing them down in my BOS I have realized that depending on what tradition of Wicca one follows that there are different possible rituals for the 8 Sabbats.
I have noticed that some of them are dedicated to different deities depending on your path and call for different sets of rituals to honor those deities. Some of them even tend to honor deities that I do not necessarily worship though I do feel I should honor the general theme of the Sabbat.
One example is Imbolc, who for one path I have read tends to honor the goddess Bride, there is another Celtic path that instead honors Cailleach or Cailleach Bheur. So of course depending on whom you wish to honor the rituals for each would be totally different.
As for myself I tend to look at the overall focus of the Sabbat and that is intended to honor the Goddess and the coming of spring and the maturation of the God. Therefore I don't know for sure how I am going to celebrate my first Imbolc but I will decide upon that once I prepare my ritual. I know I will honor Cernunnos and Arduinna as they are the deities i have chosen to show my respect to but as for exactly how I do not yet know.
I was wondering how all of you celebrate the different styles of Sabbat, whom do you honor, and why have you made the choice for your particular ritual?
Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill: An' it harm none, Do what ye will.
All good that a person does to another returns three fold in this life; harm is also returned three fold.
