Hiya!
Ohhh can i start reading my book now?
Just out of interest do I have a new place i can write my dreams in or should i use my old one, or is there one already there and i'm just being blonde?
Hi Nani
Long time no see but glad to see your still here. Hope your well and everything is going good for you
x
Hi Tom
Does sound like a cool dream. One of the things i loved when i was doing this experiment before was that you didn't end up with just one friend but lots of them, all sharing there experiences with one another. Maybe we didn't get the answers to everything but was definately interesting trying!
Umbrella's in dreams can mean a few things. Off the top of my head i would guess that it's a sort of shelther/sauctuary symbolism, so maybe the fact you where needing protection. The throat thing is also interesting as the throat could mean a couple of things (the only one i can think of the thought lol) is to dream of it denotes an awareness of our vunerabilty and also the need for self expression. I've given you the key elements of what they mean but it's really down to you to put them together to make some sort of sense of it. Good Luck!
Speak to you all soon
Kirsty x

Is there going to be some order on the reading or is it up to everyone... when they want to start and to read at their on pace. I woke up dreaming something about the AOD books this morning. I was talking to someone about it. Hehe! I didn't get to read any while on vacation so I guess I will start reading tonight??? unless there is going to be a planned start date. Let me know.

I started (rereading Ch. 1 now), and it looks like some people are a little ways into the book. I think we should come up with a rough guideline of timeframe for reading every chapter, so that we don't hurry through them, and so that the discussion is more focused. For those who read it before, how long do you think we should stay on one chapter, very roughly? My opinion would be to dedicate August to chapters 1 and 2, and if anyone wants to go faster or slower, that's fine too! What do you guys think?

That sounds great to me Lena. When we did it we went a chapter a week and I thought them that it would be nice to spend more time on each chapter. I guess we need to keep our minds on the moon meet up for these next three days. So I'll just wait until the 10th to start reading.

Thats awesome...i have found that the throat chakra is much more powerful than i originally gave credit. Any ideas as to waht it means for you? if you do have dreams you would like to share there is an area for your own dream journal. So does everyone have the book now? wow 2 monthes hell i could pick up another copy and overnight it to you. Where the heck did you order it from?

Hi all, hi Osiris, great idea to make a copy for DB. Dont know where you live, but maybe someone from Australia should do a copy and send it to DB, Michael lives there too I believe, just a thought. And about the throat-chakra, are you asking what we/Im thinking about that? If so I`ll say that for me it is referring to: speech, realisation, recognition, expression, communication. To express oneself clearly and to exchange clearly and basically. A well developped throat-chakra would mean (for me) that one can find logic and spiritual solutions and conclusions by himself, research freely and scientifically and independent from any main-stream-believe, also independent from emotions. Finally, in its highest expression it would mean for me: a speaker of truth. But the 6th chakra of course finally definitely is decisive for if we can devide delusion from truth. love_freedom, Nani

Sorry for bringing this up again - the art of dreaming!
Just wondering if anyone has had any experiences similar to Carlos by using the methods described by Don Juan. Like seeing their hands in dreaming, experiencing lucidity etc.
I think this has been discussed in another thread but can't remember where.

I havent, I think than I was easily influenced by any writers work with this field, however I Have realized that I just cant get into all the farfetched stuff that has happend to this man, I think alot of it was his own creation upon hallucination honestlly and I just became a skeptic because the things he encountered just dont add up to me lol idk I have read alot of books and I like folks that keep it real I guess, and I found myself questioning this man over and over again..its just too outlandish for me..but anyway I didnt help with your question sorry lol

When I read Carlos Casteneda's books (have read all of them), I did so with the belief that all of it was "real". As in the encounters with Don Juan. All of it was actually experienced by CC. BUT.... I did this to make the experience of reading the books more enjoyable. I must admit at first I really thought that it was all real. That Don Juan was a real guy that CC encountered and wrote books about. But after reading a couple books you can tell that CC is writing fiction and these books are fantasy. BUT... Even after I realized this I read the remaining books with the idea that it was real. Actually that's how I've always read any fiction book. Makes it way more enjoyable. Even though CC's books are fiction, I believe the content within them to be fascinating. All the concepts and so forth just incredible. To this day I still use terminology from them while conversing about dreaming and awareness type stuff. The fact that lilac and my signatures at the bottom of our posts have Don Juan quotes show just how powerful the content of the CC books to be. I believe others on this forum have Don Juan Quotes as their sigs as well...
But to answer your question. Yes I've experienced a ton of things in my dreams from the CC books. I think the reason for this is intent and what you're putting into your sub-conscious or conscious. Like anything you experience can end up in your dreams. So reading a book that's focusing on things directly related to dreaming have a strong chance of ending up in your dreams. Especially when you're trying to intend it to happen as well. While doing the AOD study I personally was having a lot of things in the book happen in my dreams. But the same thing happens when I watch a movie before going to bed. If I watch a horror movie there's a good chance my dream theme will be based upon that. If I play a video game before bed the same thing happens.
I think putting an idea or thought in your mind by reading/hearing/seeing it has a great chance for it to end up in your dreams.

I agree derek, so I listen to alot of music lol and its odd actually because when I played music more frequent I would dream of songs Ive never heard but knew how to play perfect, I think taking things in can have a positive and negative effect just like anything I suppose. ooo that just reminded me of a dream I had recently, theres always music in my head lol and I heard a song by a band I never heard before and I told someone "this band is awesome" now see wouldnt it be cool to actually find that song and know it actualy exists.
