Does the 5pm world news count??
Seriously... I would agree that as a kid poltergeist was scary.
and as an Adult, I'd say The Ringu.

The Chronicles of Riddick was a good movie. So was the one just before it. Pitchblack I think it was called. It had the same main character.

The exorcist (new and old), The first nightmare on elm street (i was very young now there just silly), Alien, Aliens, Pumpkin head, And i love undead movies so resident evil, its not real scary but has moments that make you jump out of your seat. The butterfly affect scared the hell out of me. Especially now that im an occultist. And even though its not horror Apocolypse now is very frightening. The halloween series has its moments too and by far the coolest character.

OH! I forgot about the CHildren of the Corn that was pretty scary lucky i was in late teens when it came out otherwise i would have been looking behind me all the time LOL!
OH!! Elvinlady Absolutely my favourite man to watch too!! Just Love Vin Diesel !! and will watch any of his movies over and over... Chronicles of Riddick had fantastic graphics esp those big cats in the prison..
I found Island of Doctor Miro pretty freaky with Marlin Brando as the Doctor, and all those weird creatures that were created, I think Val Kilmer was in that too!
JURRASSIC PARK the very first one that came out put me on the edge of my seat,, Maybe not a Horror but definately an edge to it..
Yes I got agree Aliens and The Thing were quite scary and still get you on the edge of your seat My all time favourite is Predator 1 , The others following dont come close... Appocolypse Now was my absolute favourite movie at the time the sound affects with the helicpters at the start are awesome and Marlin Brando again as the warped demented evil dude, He plays those parts really well...
Saving Private Ryan with Tom Hanks was pretty Gruesome special affects I thought..

I think apocolypse is scary just from the aspect of a specially trained man that learns sooo much about the occult and in return teaching the people of the jungle the ways of special operations. Creepy and very interesting.
