I recently learned about imaginary friends in one of my classes and found the topic interesting. My professor said that 50-60% of kids had imaginary friends. Do any of you fit into that 50-60%? I personally had an imaginary friend named Bruce...he was a Moose and had a special seat next to my friends and I at school. ;D

Hmm I'll have to think about it some to try to figure out if I had any specific ones with names.
What I did do when I was young though is that I always pretended that my friends (real friends) were with me even if they weren't. I would hold conversations with them and everything even though I was by myself. hmmm. Insanity... lol

Me tooooo, Derek. I still do this though. God. XD Especially when I'm in an uncomfortable situation, I pretend someone I care about is with me and it makes me feel better. Ronni, first conversations with your subconscious.

So that's how you guys figured out her name is Amy. I was a little confused since I missed this thread ;D Hi Amy, now I can call you Amy too Of course, I almost always choose my name as a handle. I have no clue why. Is that some kind of disorder? It's called "not-being-able-to-take-on-made-up-nicknames" or something like that ;D Actually, I had one when I was younger on a different forum, although it was a chatroom back then, since all we had was MS Chat at first. Yes, I'm a master at online chatting, maybe cause I feel sometimes like I don't get to talk enough lol Anyway, this nickname was Andromeda. It still has a lot of meaning for me. Oh, and imaginary friends, I wish! I mean I had friends, that I imagined, but not very persistent real like. I think I was born too cautious and self-aware to really let my imagination wonder much at all

I would always get weird inspirations for names, though I kind of like to stay consistent with them. I like Andromeda. It's not a disorder at all! Your creativity just manifests in other ways. Friends you imagined? That sounds very imaginary friend-like to me. I understand self-awareness. I get embarrassed when I'm alone and by myself when I do something embarrassing. Haha.
