{ RESET }Ch. 4 Nov 15-Nov 22 OK, guys, I'm pressing a reset button, since I feel confused about where we should be in the process, since I got off track. So my reset button means I'm starting TODAY with the next chapter. If you have a problem with that, blame my pendulum. Yes, I actually consulted my guides on better way to go about this. Sorry to those, who are way ahead. I say, don't hold back, if you want to read! I don't think we are making our discussion so chapter specific, that you will be confused. If you want, start your own post. Name it "Nani's experience on Chapter 4." Then we can incorporate it into our general chapter discussion. Whatever will get some expiences and conversations going.

My personal update is that I figured out that because I'm learning so much and processing so much information during the day, my brain stays very busy at night, processing surface stuff. I really think it's keeping me from going deeper right now, which is all right by me. It's a phase and it too will pass.
I had a really strange dream right before I woke up from a nap today. It was *cough* very graphic and odd. I also had a dream that I lost my baby in the couch universe lol Like my baby got all tiny and fell through the cracks and then I had to go after him, making myself all tiny. I know right, it's weird.

I too got behind but did read this chapter a couple days ago. One thing that I didn't realize that this chapter points out is how important animal allies or power animals are to shamans. I guess I always thought of shamans as just master dreamers and able to switch very easily into OBE or altered perceptions with the main purpose of helping people. I didn't realize just how much they meant to them.
I've done past work with seeking out power animals with some success. Though that's as far as I've got. I've never used them to take me to places for higher learning and the such. Very cool stuff though. Will work with that. Need to bring more intent back into my dreaming. As of late I've been just letting what wants to come to me come to me.

OK you guys, my dreams have been INTENSE! Some interesting themes going on like my husband having other wives and stuff. I guess the reason they are interesting is because they are very consistent. Stuff actually is starting to make sense from one dream to the next. Wow, I need to write this down, so I have more details on me.
Derek...hitting a deer this week was of course a sign for me, not necessarily my power animal, but animal messenger. Also, I had dreams before about tigers and moutain lions. I think those ARE my power animals. That and they represent the power aspect of me. And of course, spiders provide great spiritual guidance for me. They start appearing if I drift too far from my dream work. They bit me in one dream, where I then went into a special state and became lucid. Speaking of lucidity, I had another lucid one! I know that's a bit inconsistent, but point is, they are starting to come. Out of all things, I was naked and that's why I realized I was dreaming. I'm like your copycat, Derek. Wasn't that one of your dreams too? Anyhow, I started yelling at my dream character that I'm dreaming and he was making weird faces at me, and it snapped me out of the dream state. I was sort of testing if he was real or if he was just a character. He was definitely a character.

As I was reading Ch. 4 (yay, finally reading it!), it struck me that I had a recurring dream about a fox, when I was little. It would always come back if I slept on my right side, and the only way I could get it to go away was to turn on my left side. It was a scary, dreadful nightmare, of a fox chasing after me and I was hiding behind my grandma's couch. Every time it was about to launch at me, I would wake up, never actually seeing this dream to the end. I often wondered the meaning of it. I actually had a nickname "Fox" in childhood. Now I am so excited because I realized that I really want to go back into this dream and confront my fox. Mind you, I had this dream like twenty years ago. We'll see if I can get it to come back. Sounds like a fun dream adventure!
Sorry guys, if I disappear for a while. I'm taking my last class for web design certificate. It's web programming and wow, it's a little too technical for me. I gotta finish this up though, as there are so many unfinished things in my life. I have the last month to go and assignments that I have to tough through.

Nice Lena. Good to hear your gaining more lucidness. Yea being naked in a dream was a theme for a bit there that would trigger lucidity for me. Strange coincidence that you hit a deer while beginning this chapter on power animals... The Fox dream sounds much like what Moss is talking about in this chapter. The reason why the fox kept recurring was to get your attention but you kept fleeing from it. I'm sure if this dream comes back and you manage to stay with it some interesting things will occur. It makes me think of fear while in sleep paralysis. Like how if you get scared and lose control of your fear while in sleep paralysis bad things can occur but even in the face of scary things, if you calm down and release the fear things will change instantly. Like once in sleep paralysis I became terrified when I found a negative entity holding me down and the more I struggled, like a snake the neg would squeeze tighter and tighter. Finally I realized that wasn't working so instead I released the fear and just meditated into it and instantly the squeezing stopped and the neg was gone. So just like that when you can release your fears in what seems like a nightmare type dream or being what seems like attacked by an animal, then the dream will instantly transform since you don't have fear driving the action.
