The other night I had the following dream....
I was Mary Ingalls (you know, Mary from Little House) but I was really myself. Ma was the real Ma from Little House. I had won a scholastic contest and Ma and I were supposed to go to a big city for the competition. (this happened on an actual Little House episode) It was modern times but Ma and I were still as if we were living in the 1890's. We wore old fashioned clothes. I packed a black duffel bag with my Sunday's best and we headed to the airport where we met up with a bunch of women from Ma's family. The women were Indians (Indians from India). They were trying to arrange my marriage. At the end of the dream we were in a seminar and one of the Indian women gave me an Ecstasy pill.
That's all that I can remember.
Any thoughts (other than the fact that I might be insane) are appreciated.

hi there pimentoloaf, well most dreams are a bit odd ya know..lol so I think your fine! so what was the feeling you had during the dream? Also how did you feel when you awoke? Did this dream have a powerful significance to you in any way? I have not watched the little house since I was a kid, but it seems it had a dominance to you in some way, so did this show have an impact on you, if so what are you thoughts about the show and the two characters in your dream(as well as yourself)?
What stood out to you the most? The scene/time,way you felt, the other people in the dream or perhaps a thing such as the e pill? I can not analyze your dreams for you, but I can help you figure them out the best I can. have you done much dream study or interpretations of your own dreams? I think that if this dream felt powerful and you "know" there is a symbol of some kind here, I would look further into the dream with the questions I asked you and maybe you can break it down a bit to start to see a pattern or perhaps a significance of symbology.

Well Little House was always a show that I liked and I've been watching a bunch of reruns of it lately so I think that's a connection. I'm really curious about the Indian ladies. I've got a really good friend from India although I haven't talked to her lately and I feel a bit guilty for that. Not sure if that's related to the dream. I felt good in the dream when I thought we were in old times and felt weird when we got to the airport. I have been having dreams lately about plane crashes. The Indian ladies were driving me nuts talking, it was very annoying to me.

When we dream of a famous person we rarely actually know the actual famous person, but rather a persona he/she portrays; hense a famous person suggests that whatever your beliefs/understanding about him/her, something in your waking life has triggered issues about those traits/behaviours regarding you or about a principle that person represents for you.
Also famous people are the closest things we have to gods/goddesses today and amy therfore represent archetypal figures. they may represent personal issues embedded in the the archetypal motifs of hero/herinine, mother/father, masculine/feminine, as well as wisdom and shadow figures. Also consider if there are any puns embedded in the person's name.
When we dream of a foreign person, it may represent some foriegn/distant aspect of yourself (unconscious material, shadow?) that's attempting to make itself known. Do you like/unlike, enjoy/fear the qualitities of the foreigner? How are those qualities similar to/unlike your own?
