I've always had these re-occuring dreams about being surrounded by swimming pools. I was wondering what these dreams could mean, if anyone has a guess. In my dreams I'm always surrounded by pools and water and am afraid to walk because I might fall into one of them. Then last night I had another diving board dream. These dreams always reoccur as well. I see people diving off of the high dive at some school, and when it's my turn to go, I climb up to the top, and the board gets higher and higher, so I'm afraid to go. I'm guessing that I'm afraid to try something new, or make a change. The funny thing is, I'm a not one bit afraid of swimming pools or water and love to swim. In my dreams it's always the opposite.

Grest dream. To me water has to do with the subconscious and emotions. Constructed pools of water such as swimming pool would represent personal subsconscious rather than collective according to Jung. It can represent other things like living essense of the psyche, the flow of life energy and fertility. Diving into water symbolizes delving into or working on unconscious material, seeking hidden aspects of yourself, courage to face your fears/emotions, taking a risk. It kind of reminds me of a dream I had recently were I was a student at this school and our first lesson of the day was to dive from this very high cliff. I just jump right end without giving my self time to be afraid and it was soooo cool. I just floated down in slow motion and was a lot of fun in the dream. Next time you dream it force yourself to take the plunge, you may be surprise at the results and even what could transform in your physical life as a result. You could also use it as a chance to take control in the dream and just dive right out of the dream and into the astral, flying high! I wish I had become more conscious in mine and used that opportunity to leave the dream and awakened in the astral. I need to work more on my awareness. I've been letting a lot of opportunities pass me by, lately.

Thanks CC! Yeah I think it had a lot to do with my fears and taking risks in life. I also thought about taking control of that dream as well, as I have been having lucid dreams more frequently. How cool would it be to know that if I was aware of the diving situation, then take control, and to really enjoy the freedom of it all? I guess that's something I'll have to work on. It would be nice though to turn it more into a pleasant dream. I'm glad you had fun in yours though! Well take care now! Lady_B

yeah, what crazycat said.
I'm usually apprehensive in my bodies of water dreams even though I love the water in waking life. I've also noticed many times when I'm actually in the bodies of water, the water is in a faraway place such as another state or country and the water is choppy and littered with debris. The only man-made pool dreams I can recall at the moment were when I was outside them, either watching them spill open or not being able to climb the latter to get in them.

good post cc lol...and I agree with the above comments as well. perhaps not being able to face one's emotions..or even being overwhelmed on a emotional level... lookto see if and when these dreams occur there is a hidden pattern in your life..perhaps you have created subconsciously that when the actions are taking shape in reality your dreams show you and remind you whats really going on below the surface. maybe there is some connection to your past with these dreams as well..hope that helps.. I know for me , i try to examine my life in the past when my reacurring dreams take place or have taken place to see an underlying pattern at work..quite fascinating lol
