I have to admit, I'm lazy when it comes to fiction. I prefer non-fiction books, especially with paranormal or political themes. Some would argue they are one in the same. Anyway, my sister gave my mother the book for mother's day last year. They both read it. We plan to see it next weekend. I told them that seeing the movie will save me the time and effort it takes to read the book. I especially want to see it after the controversy about it coming from catholics. The head of the Christian Civic League here in Maine wants everyone to ban the film. I imagine there will be some true believers out there picketing the movie theaters. I wonder if anyone explained to them that the DaVinci Code is F I C T I O N !!

LOL Mandala.. yes they seem to one in the same at times I must admit I am lazy at times too!! Like with Narnia, never read the book but saw the movie.. I gues i am in a reading frenzy at the moment, I think to escape the realities of everyday life for a moment. I am reading the Biography of Tolstoy at the moment, interesting read! not much to go.... then I'll get stuck into The Da Vinci Code. Then after that I have been given another Russian Author Velikovski, Ramses ll and his time, looks like an interesting read also.. Exactly! Mandala..I wonder what they are so frightened of?? HMMM! I will see when i read the book and or see the movie. Great Publicity for the Movie

I did read the book back when it first came out. It was a fun read and I do want to see the movie, too.
I doubt if many Christian will protest it, maybe a group of the more fanatical one. For a true Christian nothing such as that will effect their faith. Some may have some concerns about what effect it would have upon their chrildren, but any wise Christian parent would discuss the pro and con with them before hand. You know there are the fananticals in every religion. The media is trying real hard to turn people against the Christian communtiy and I feel they are doing a darn good job of it. It just shows how easily we allow our minds to be swade by every wind that blows by the powers that are over us manipulating us into this war and that. And most all fall right into their political schemes. Keeping us pitted against one another and in their controls.
*sigh* are we ever going to unite as one and rise up and stop being controlled, mentally manipulated to do their political will?
I did go see Narnia, but have not read the book. A nice fairy tale. Of course all the fairy tales have truths intwined and most had their beginings in the true Christians forced underground back there in time.

Okay, guys! Now don't hate me..... I did not read the book or really know anything about the movie/book! It was made well, but I didn't really care for it....kinda boring! Sorry! I guess it was worth the $5.00 each that we spent to go, but I wouldn't want to see it again! We already have read and knew about the topics of the movie! But you go and be the judge and see if you like it! Love and Light, Luna

I just pay $4.50 if I go in the daylight hours and if I ask for my senior discount even less. hehe. I can't believe it cost $15 for you to go Dancing Bear. If it cost that much I would just wait until it came to TV. You can buy a good book for $15.

Thank You, DB! Ooh....that is steep for a movie ticket! The $5.00 is our matinee price! I agree with CC, but if you want to see the big screen....I guess it's kinda like a little vacation....He he! Luna

I got bored in the second half of the movie. The book wouldn't be a worth while investment.

I almost went to see it Sunday, but there was a movie on TV that was of more interest. I read the book and it was ok for a book of fiction in that it had a lot of symbolic stuff in in it. I think I would rather go see RV with Robin Williams..hehe!

I have read the book ,The Da Vinci Code and Narnia,
I enjoy a good story, as was "The Da Vinci Code ",....and it asks us what we believe,as Christians.
Personally I don't see what the crime is ? So what ! and if he did marry her...???we are the better for it ..!!!
In the bible we(the Church) are the Bride and He is the BrideGroom. Christ is the Bridegroom of the Church.
THE BRIDEGROOM AND THE BRIDE ;...Both Jews and Christians have long considered the Song of Songs, which contains nuptial imagery, to be a parable of God's relationship with Israel and/or Christ's relationship with Ecclesia.
Jesus is not just a king; he is a betrothed King—an engaged King. And soon he will be a married King. His betrothed bride is the people of God—the people who trust him, elect from every race and nation, the church. He came the first time 2,000 years ago to die for his bride—to pay a dowry, as it were, with his own blood. And he will come a second time to marry her and take us—his church—into the gardens and the chambers of his love and joy forever.
Everyone who trusts in Jesus belongs to that bride.
The Da Vinci Code was a good read..! I do want to see the movie ,more because

Hi SXY, You are right...the casting was done very well....haven't seen anything I didn't like of Tom Hanks acting. Not the movies, but the roles that Tom takes on! I also agree, so what if Jesus was married! I believe in a higher power....the universe, but not going to church. (to worship the church and to give money to support something I don't believe in) I believe anyone that wants to go see it should and make their own decisions! Have a great time, Luna

I have read the book....and researched some of the info provided therein. I do so enjoy movies....as they say seeing is believing. I also would like to ask....who is to say what is fiction when it come to historical topics? It all seems fantasic story-telling to me. Very one-sided.
