I think the closest I've come to being in another's dream (or at least sharing a similiar dream) was when I was a teen-ager.
My mother started telling me about this horrible nightmare she had where this black bat was attacking her. It got ahold of her finger and would not let go.
I told her about the dream I had that night in which a black panther was attacking me and got ahold of my arm and wouldn't let go.
Weird or what?

That's actually happend a couple of times in our group, including one of my dreams. Throughout the dream I was anxious. What we did in these cases was try to find comparisons with an opposite emotion. In my dream, I had witnessed the slaughter of several animals. I was asked something like, suppose the animal had broken free, compare that to what happend. What comes to you?

Great synopsis of the Boznak dreamwork. I too belong to a dream group that uses Boznak's techniques. The original founder of the group (who was an alchemical hypnotherapist) moved away, but the remaining members kept the group going.
In addition to what you discussed, we also take that resisting part of the dream, where emotion is the strongest or heaviest, and save it for last. We ask clarifying questions to get more details of the happening that is causing the most resistence, then take that emotion and contrast it to one or two of the lighter emotions, such as joy or awe.
It's amazing how different fragments of a dream can create a whole!

Excellent sites Mandala Thankyou ! I have put in favourites already You're welcome! I also have the site in my favorites. It's a great guide for those times when you have dreams and you'd like to get a better understanding of what those symbols could mean. I often do better with other's dreams than I do my own.

Hi Osiris, You might want to check out Roger Woolger's stuff. He is a Jungian Psychotherapist. He used to have dream study classes. I don't know if he is still doing this. I know in one of his books he stated it was very difficult determining what dreams meant! He is the one that I am going to his workshop next week for five days in Ma. Blessings, LunaSpirit Let us know how it goes and what you learn. I'm interested. I belong to a dream group and several of our members got to see Robert Bosnak, whose protocol we follow in our meetings. So, any info or anything new or interesting you learn, please share! Thanks, mandala

What are your thoughts on scientology ? I think it was started by a science fiction writer who found a very clever way to make millions of dollars and have power and control. I think scientology is a cult that's all about money, power, and control. You can't be poor and be a full fledged scientologist. www.xenu.net/

Thanks Mandala, This female presence was not wierd and wacky but, aaaahhhh, serious and determined to see what I looked liked, I used the term 'hacking' as a discriptive. uumm, the computer side of things nothing there, may I suggest thinking outside the box on this dream. I will look at the force fields suggestions you mentioned, but I'm thinking, uuumm, maybe looking at this from a new approach. what do you reckon? It's got me stumped. You're welcome. Tom Cruise could also represent an unconventional spirituality. He is a devout scientologist and has been critized heavely by the press. Has anyone been critical recently of your spiritual beliefs? I suspected that "hacking" was just a term used to describe a personal invasion of sorts. That's why I wanted to know if you meant it literally. If it is not an actually person doing the hacking, than it would be wise to approach this being, if you should meet it again in your dreams, to try and ask it what it wants. The presence may not be maniacal at all, but just want to convey a message of wisdom.

I had a very strong presence in my dreams last night, While dreaming I was interupted with a face trying to look like at me (through dream) ( like she was hacking into my dream and stoping it), this presence was so strong I was cut off from my dream and had to pay attension to her, if you can imagine this, there was like a force field around me and I go off into the dream world. This presence was trying to see what I looked like, and forced her way into and past my force field, I was blocking her with a lot of my energy but she made it thru, but only for about 5 seconds, so I blocked her with no energy and I succeeded, I did see her face, If you can imagine this, a female version of Tom Cruse with blonde straight hair with a long fringe, jaw length, covering her left side of her face and her look at me was with a strong right eye and an obnoxious grin. Who in the forum can interpret dreams ? I'm curious about this one! To paraphrase the dream, you were blocking someone or something from entering your space. This someone was female. Because the female presence was like Tom Cruise, I'm guessing you feel this female is weird and wacky. In your waking reality, this female is a meddling presence. A wife? A mother-in-law? Your mother? Your sister? You use the term "hacking" into your dream. Does this female in reality try to hack into your computer and read private messages? Is your privacy being "hacked" in some way? Perhaps you need a stronger "force field." This can translate into assertiveness and self-confidence.

Interesting question. I did breathe under water once in a dream. I was escaping from the mafia I have had a few lucid dreams, but they came on thier own. I didn't meditate beforehand to have one. In those dreams, I have flown and had great wisdom, like a sage. I certainly don't possess those qualities in real life!

Ladybleu may be correct as far as the personal aspects of the dream, but I also think that when a dreamer feels a strong "premonition" feeling and experiences vividness in a dream, that it may be foretelling some sort of related future event.
My feeling is that because the issue of global warming has been in the news, that what you were seeing daniel, is a metaphor for things to come. The elite in the world are busy with their tennis games and their wealth. They are more interested in keeping the oil companies in business and not looking down the road at future consequences and investing their millions in combating global warming and alternative fuel sources.
Pardon my soap box, but if this was my dream, that's how I would interpret it.

The fear of falling and drowning in the dream could be a waking fear of a situation you will not be able to handle, physically and emotionally. The emotions because bodies of water in dreams often represent the emotions.
Perhaps you are emotionally isolated from people and fear some kind of committment. The fact that you are surrounded by water on an Island suggests this.

I'm not a musician, but I have written words and music in my dreams. Only a few times have I remembered them though. The experience for me was like listening to a stereo at a normal comfortable volume. It was like hearing it for the first time, which is was because I made it up in my dream!
One song I dreamed of that I remember sounded like it was written in the 1940's. It was sort of big band, but low key and the words went:
Strolling down the promanade While people stop and stare, You supply the limo And I'll supply the fare Livin' it up!

What comes to mind is that you are, or have recently faced someone in a confrontation or argument. People shooting at you tells me this. You feel people are taking "aim" at you.
The part about no one caring about the killer in your basement could mean that you feel your side of the issue is not being heard. And the fact that much of it is like a movie means that it all seems unreal to you.
hope this helps

You should check out my posting in the Dream Journal forum. Most of the dreams I've had recently were about being back in school in some capacity or another. I tend to agree with ladybleu. Dream experts also say that the underlying cause of such dreams is either unfinished business or anxiety of an upcoming deadline.

I have the same problem when I get out of my routine of going to bed earlier on the weekdays, to going to bed late and getting up late on the weekends.
It happens especially Sunday and Monday nights. I have dreams where I'm laying down and too tired to get up and do what I need to do. Even in the dream, my body feels like it weighs a ton.
What helps, besides sticking to a bedtime routine of course, is getting regular excersize. It rejuvenates the body. Also, avoid caffeine and heavy meals at night.
Also, you may have some unresolved emotional issues that are haunting you in your dreams, draining your energy. I also have this problem. I tell myself that I will resolve the issue during the day when I'm more alert.
You may also need to take a little break from trying to go lucid. As for lucid dreaming, for me, it occurs naturally on its own. Your body in the tired state in the dreams may be telling you that you need to shut down and let nature take its course. Then try it again when your energy comes back.
Hope these suggestions help!

Wow, what a powerful dream. Thanks for sharing.
I'm just curious. Why did it bother you that you were the only one that saw her? Do you fear visitations from the dead?
