I love the Buddha one, nice a low. They are all nice though except the high pitched ones, they set my teeth on edge.

This sounds like a very soothing thing to do after a long day. I dont know that i would trust it to be the real deal on-line and i dont have any shops like that around me. Hmm maybe ill just have to risk it.
Lilac you live in Mi is there anywhere that has shops like this?

Ladybleu, I'm with you on liking the sounds of the lower sounding metal Tibetan bowls. There are crystal bowls that are more ear piercing in tones and are used in the same way (struck and rimmed) and are used to help "align" the chakra.
Osiris, Your correct as it is best to "feel and test" before buying it. Perhaps you should check out the website I posted. The owners go to Tibet and such and ship them back. But to buy one from them, you have to listen to the bowls until you find one that "fits" you because the owners believe that since the bowls are known to have healing properties, the bowls need to "fit" you in return. As a matter of fact, the bowl that I bought, I got from a local store that gets their bowls from that website.

Frank Perry, on His website, talks about doing the same water filling techniques with the Tibetan Bowls to change the pitch and if I remember right He mentions a technique of "mouthing" the vibrations to absorb the sounds.

I have never seen these bowls could you use any type of bowl that would play a tune ( if the tunes right)or does it specifically have to be a tibetan singing bowl???

I personally don't see why not, Dancing Bear. It's just that the Tibetan bowls are renown for the vibrational healing qualities.

Your Welcome! And nothing wrong with asking.
You might check out your local metaphysical stores. They seem to always have one or two sitting around.

Well, that bites! You could always give the "Bodhisattva" website a spin, Ladybleu.

very true ... it is the sound and the vibration that is the importance ... but something to be said about the craft of bowl making.

I like to sing to the bowls! They are so awesome for always offering beautiful harmonics that I like to offer my voice in return. I know it doesn't compare with the bowl, but I found them great for aiding in finding a resonance inside the voice.

I know this is an old thread so I hope it's ok ressurecting it lol.
I have a cd with some singing bowls on. They are awesome. After a few days you can really feel your vibrations lifting. I haven't used them for a while, in fact I may be digging my cd out very shortly!

firecracker I would love a cd witht eh sounds of singing bowls... I got right into these little things, I started buying them for my busiiness to resell LOL!! I have two of my own now in my home.. one i use for burning essential oils in for ritual purposes, and the other for sound meditation .. they are gorgeous. the ones i get are from Nepal.. originally i found out through research they were made from 13 metals... then through availablility factors 13 was reduced to 7 metals and now most are reduced to 3 metals yes they are expensive but well worth it..tehy need to be genuine and from Nepal.. even the 3 metals are produced in Nepal .. so speak to the supplier about the metal content before you buy.. because the 3 metal bowls even though are still beautiful and sound wonderful, can be bought much much cheaper.. I am able to still get them with 7 metals.. I think i may google for a singing bowl cd..

After reading this thread, I went ahead and found my crystal bowl CD and enjoying it right now! I bought it on sale, when a local metaphysical shop was closing a few years back. I always liked it, but then when my baby was born, wow, did I find a use for it! It was one of the only things that would put him to sleep. That's saying A LOT! Even now he is getting a little drowsy as he is sitting on my lap LOL I own a singing bowl from Tibet. It is nice to use for clearing the space. I've also been to crystal bowl concert. It was beautiful!
