May 25, 2006 Restorative Energy Everyone Can Heal Touch is the first tool we turn to when confronting pain. We react similarly to a stubbed toe and a broken heart, tenderly grasping the affected area. This need to apply physical contact is part of the innate healing instinct present within each of us. We are all born with the ability to heal ourselves and to heal others. Because healing energy does not come from within but from outside our ourselves, the energy is there for anyone to use, and thus no formal training is required. When you have the intent to heal and love is your only motive, you become a conduit for healing energy. Through the simple laying on of hands, you can direct that universal healing energy in order to comfort those who are experiencing pain or distress.
In performing healing energy work, it is imperative that you ground yourself both before you begin and afterward. The illnesses and issues others face can be absorbed into our energy field, and healing can exhaust our own energy reserves. Address the universe directly, stating that you wish to be a one-way channel through which healing energy flows through you and that your energy supply should not be depleted. Next, speak your intention and place your hands on the individual you are endeavoring to heal. Let your intuition guide you to the afflicted area and imagine a healing white light being drawn in through the top of your head and emanating through your hands. The energy will begin to flow once you have made a physical connection, and your touch will help awaken the body's capacity for self-healing. The afflicted areas of the body, which were initially tense or tight, will relax once imbued with enough healing energy. Not everybody is sensitive to subtle energy, so try n! ot to feel like you aren't helping if you don't feel the flow. The work you are doing is indeed helping. Finally, thank the universe. Disconnect yourself from the person being healed by speaking your intention to sever your connection and then wash your hands.
Understanding how energy works is less important than consciously choosing to make use of it. Performing a loving healing session on your loved ones can be a wonderfully intimate experience that brings you closer together. And as the rejuvenating healing energy passes through you, it can awaken a profound compassion within you that helps you better understand the interactions between the spiritual, physical, and mental selves.

Sounds almost Tantric. Very fantastic post.. The first time i ever healed it was myself. Pushing my negative energy into the earth. It was at the very beginning of all my studies. One night i was just letting the dog out and all of a sudden i fealt like a battery. It was raining litely and i just stood outside letting energy flow into me from above and wash me, then right back into the ground. It fealt soo natural and is a huge reason for why i am on here at all. Anyway is it ok to send all that negative energy down into the earth? I thought for sure it was ok but now i wonder? This seemed like the perfect place to post this because you said we dont heal it comes from around us and that is exactly how i fealt. This is one of those points where i really had problems because i could not tell anyone and i needed to soooo bad. Thanks again for letting me umm interupt.

great post Ladybleu ! and Osiris IMO of course it is okay to send whatever negative energy into earth! This is a place for that and all what is too hard for us to bear. But if you feel not good doing it then you also can send it Through earth, finally let it pass through and out of earth again. Its anyhow only energy. Of course you know that we and earth are made of energy, so we finally just send back whatever energy of us into the cosm, into the immaterial world, where it had come from. In Qigong a lot is leaded into the earth, but also good fresh and grounding energy can be taken from earth, earth/female and sky/male are neutral energies finally. Me too Im doing most healing work on myself, its needed, and I do similar like cleaning with light from above and let it stream through me, earth, and wash all out. Its great how it works yes. So you have had a strong physical threat in your life already!? It was good what you have done to heal your physical temple.

sorry Osiris, then that just was my super-english-understanding lol, I did get that "a huge reason for why i am on here at all." totally wrong in understanding the "on here" as (still) "on earth" or something like that, and maybe it also just was the healing-theme which did lead me into openspace lol, so Im glad you are best healthy. But I guess now I should think about my own health cause lately I did confuse several things already lol. Okay never mind. :-) la Nani

Yes the earth is the place to send that negativeness or any excess energy good or bad, the earth is very good at self healing.

Question for those of you, who do reiki. How is reiki different from healing described in this article? I do healing sometimes, and I received healing from people before. I'm just wondering if I could benefit from formal reiki training
