MEDITATIONS
The first meditation is to examine your past lives. The soul's journey encompasses the universe, and other planes and not just earth. Time is a spiral and not linear. This meditation is best performed at Samhain (summer's end), when the line between worlds is thinnest.
Things you need: A black mirror propped on an alter, or table. Cloth to cover the mirror. 1 black candle (votive, pillar, or taper), as the candle to place in front of the mirror. A drum or rattle if preferred, insence of frankincence, sandalwood, or copal.
1. Take a warm, candlelit bath, scented with herbs(rosemary, basil, thyme, valerian) tied in a muslin (finely woven cotten, bedsheets) pouch. Dress in comfortable clothes or what is natural to you.
2. Be in aplace with no disturbances, have the light off.
3. Light the candle in front of the mirror, and the insence.
4. begin the meditation by gazing into the mirror past the flame, while sitting and facing north, enter a meditative state.
Envision the candle as a beacon of wisdom.
"This candle glows to light the darkness"
Gaze into the mirror past your own eyes, drum or shake the rattle.
"I call upon the Dark and the Past; the Ancient of Days in the Realm of Repast. Unleash to my sight the paths I have roamed; and show me the forms of life I have known."
Continue to chant the rhyme, shaking the rattle or drumming, but without listening to it, or paying attention to the motion; focus on the mirror and watch as the face changes into those of past lives. Once the visions are done if still drumming or rattleing stop:
"The memories of past and future are shown; the faces of me in Time are now known. Blessings I give to the Veiled One of Night; for through this mask am I given sight."
Cover the mirror with a black cloth and snuff the candle.
