Do you believe that to release the quarters and break the circle that one should walk widdershins(counterclockwise) or not? Personally I believe in the use of walking widdershins to release the power that you created as it feels right to me and I know it is based on ancient traditions however I know a lot of traditions believe that to walk widdershins is bad and can only be a negative thing. What kind of opinions do you all have on this?

I personally don't subscribe to this practice, I have not seen any evidence of harm if I don't. Again it all depends on a persons beliefs, if you believe it will cause bad things to happen if you don't do it a certain way it probably will.

I have never heard of of it either, But then i do not practice Wiccan, I must find out whether the Native American find a certain way better also as i know they do walk in a circle when doing certain types of ceremonies.. I would be most interested..Or even the Druids had a certain circling ritual also,, I think is worth having a dig to see why or if they did it. SilvermoonWolf Do you walk in this this counterclockwise circle while doing your spell to relaese it or after to release it?

SilvermoonWolf Do you walk in this this counterclockwise circle while doing your spell to relaese it or after to release it? It is done after the spell. You cast the circle, call the quarters, cast the spell, thank deity, release the quarters, then break the circle. That is generally how a Wiccan rite is done though in a little more detail then the way I just said it.

Yes! As it feels right to you! Follow what you feel is right for You! If someone says it is not right, you should question how You feel about it. You are unique and so are your life. Listen to the feeling inside of you. Follow the intuition, because that's the gift from the Goddess.
I have done some things, guestures i even don't know what they mean and later i have just discovered that they are some buddhist symbols or saying thanks in some way. It came from me and it felt right to do that.
