Interesting report, well presented but assumes materialism, fails to give any good argument against dualism. If only they could see..... lol. I could write pages and pages about OBE conciousness and the materialist / dualist argument. But we already did right back at the start of this forum so anyone who is interested please read this thread: lilacsky.proboards39.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1107881359Kind Regards Gav

Interesting report, well presented but assumes materialism, fails to give any good argument against dualism. If only they could see..... lol. Kind Regards Gav Having just read through the report I have to agree with you Gav. It seemed to me that there were repeated statements about cognitive science having proven the reliance of the mind on the function of the brain, but repeatedly failed to show that evidence. It would seem to me that until they can prove that the mind does not function without the brain (and to do that they would have to die first) then they cannot make this assertion. Brain waves and brain activity prove the activity of the brain and the nervous system, but they cannot prove the presence or absence of the mind simply because the mind and consciousness are still not understood. The report also asserted that disruption of certain nervous pathways was responsible for our body image, our feel and perception of it, but failed to explain why, when that pathway was interfered with that someone would then see themself from above. It would seem logical to me that if my nervous pathways were interfered such that my body image was disrupted, I would actually feel confusion and dislocation but from within my own mind and body, somewhat like the feeling of a lack of control over your body when intoxicated. Seeing yourself clearly from above does not seem confused or dislocated to me. Love and Light, Uriella
