Is it just me or when Mel Gibson has long hair in a movie, WOA, it automatically tells you that he is gonna kick some ass so be prepared. When he's got short, well groomed, hair he is a sensitive, gentleman???

Yeah I noticed that too. I like Mel Gibson I think he plays both roles quite well. Actually I don't have many favorite actors/actresses but I would consider him a favorite.
Hmmm movies that made me tear up.....Well I watched a movie on television the other week and it made me tear up, but I can't remember the name of it. It was about a young girl (rather reserved and religous) and a young boy (a more popular bad *** type) He got into some trouble and had to do certain tasks to "learn his lesson" which included be a part of the school play and tutor troubled kids on the weekend. The girl was involved in both of these activities so they saw each other a lot. He was having trouble with his lines for the play so he asked her for help. Well it turns out that they fell in love and she helped change his whole life. Later on he finds out that she has had cancer for most of all her life and she just stopped responding to treatment. He makes it his primary goal to make sure she lives out all of her dreams and wishes before she goes. He made a large telescope for her. She was heavily into astronomy and mader her own telescope at a young age. She wanted to make a larger one so she could see a once in a lifetime comet (I think it was). He married her in the church that her parents were married in (which was another of her wishes) and he made sure that she knew he was there for her.
It was a really touching story...I wish I can remember the name of it. Maybe someone recognizes the story line and can remember the name.
Pretty much any story that shows true love makes me tear up. Love is such a wonderful thing.

I think what made these movies powerfully gripping to me was the acting within the story as well as the story. Deer Hunter was disturbing in it's telling of the tale of families living within the Vietnam era. The struggles of the characters as they fought in the war and the pyschological damage rented on them. Robert Deniro and Christopher Walken portrayed well the emotional aspects of men battered by the effects of the war along with the other friends close to them. The part that got to me was the end with Deniros character having to confront his friend(Walken), who had been transformed by his experiences in the war. While captured during the war, they had been tortured by their captors by playing a game of Russian Roulette with other American prisoners. The pyschological morphing of Walken's character began to show itself when he began to gamble with others playing this game of russian roulette. Deniros character went to find his friend, confronting him while playing this game. The look on Walken's face was a mask of hidden pain and damage inescapable. Deniro sat before him desparately trying to convince him to stop. The emotion poured from deniro's character.....he then decided that he would play his friend in this game to hopefully show him that I'm willing to sacrifice my life for yours to make him stop. My life for yours, a sacrifice that any true friend would be willingly to make. The gun went from him to his friend, each click of the revolver that was made when Walken's character held it to his head evoked nothing but a stoic mask, uncaring of the danger until that click became an explosion. Walken's character died. The acting proved itself superb elevating the story which we all know makes it that much more believable.
I hope this wasn't too long winded.

Mine would be lord of the rings all episodes. When I was younger I didn't really like it that much. Next year I watched it on TV and I loved it. Personally I think that all the characters in the movie have got fascinating character. They all have something good to say. And I love the lord of the rings journey. All their RUNNING and wicked background music.
O and Titanic never forget titanic. I remember getting soo much into the movie and believing it was life and death in my own imagination animated by the movie.

I would have to say the movie "Pay It Forward" with that kid from "The Sixth Sense" Haley Joel Osment. That movie had me bawling at the end of it which made me feel very silly but that's how sad the ending is.

They are not movies that are shown in the theatre, but all those damn Hallmark movies on TV. I tend to hold crying in, but for some reason those will have me bawling in like two or three places every time. Need to stay away from them...lol.
