My first one. I was reading through Anise's tarot log and saw right away a post about career search spread. Well, that definitely has been on my mind lately. I started out my job with a great enthusiasm (for a mortgage bank) a few months ago, but now, for some reason, I considerably slowed down my efforts, and I have a lot of doubts about which direction I should take. This has been heavy on my mind, especially because it's giving me problems with finances, which of course, affects my life right away on different levels, including more anxiety and self-doubt.
I'll copy Lilac's instructions here: career path- shuffle/cut and stack into three piles, choose one pile- card1- what job is best for you card2-what job is worst for you card3-how to achieve this job card4 outcome of card 3
lay the cards in this pattern ......1...... 2............3 ......4.......
Question: What website do I go to in order to put the images on here? Anyway, I'm using Gilded Tarot deck... My spread
1. Seven of cups reversed. Hmm..not sure how this points to the best position for me. Since I have hard time understanding what this card means, here's an explanation from my book "This card reversed means a determination to make something from dreams. This does not mean rejecting fantasies, but rather doing something with them."
So giving shot at it myself, I'd say the first impression is a job where there are no ungrounded fantasies, but more concrete actions and results. Hmm..ok...This could be a lot of things.
2. Three of cups..The worst job for me. Maybe where I have to interact with people a lot is not optimal. Actually, I'm quite an introvert, and I can be thrown of balance if I have to be around people all the time, which is exactly what happens with my job right now. This could be it, not sure.
3. Queen of pentacles reversed. Again, I'll quote my book: "The Queen reversed can mean not trusting oneself in some specific situation." So basically it's trying to say that I'm ungrounded, which is true, there is a lot of doubt, and mistrust of myself. Perhaps, I need to build up my confidence and enjoy the earthly things more. Not sure if this clarifies anything for me about what I should do...I'm already trying to build up my self-esteem, but how specifically will it help me find my job?
4. The Devil - outcome. Is this the outcome if I follow the advice? Actually, to me this card speaks of strength surprisingly. I don't know I guess this card is not very optimistic, maybe it's undergoing some hard times?
I don't know, for some reason, this whole spread has left me unsure. I'll leave it anyway, maybe I'll come back later to explore it more when I'm in a better mood.

hi there darlin, thanks for joining in the tarot fun!woohoo! okay so great I also am using the gilded tarot deck..if the career spread is unclear to you, draw a clarification card in the outcome, this will usually show what the outcome card will bring with it and the reason for the outcome card. I would say that by looking at your cards, you would be better off doing something mundane rather than acting/or the arts(queen of pentacles) perhaps something even for the eviroment/animals/ since she is a earth sign, I don't read reversed cards by the way lol..I see the queen as a very materialistic person, however in a way that she knows how to make money from building off her own inventions or ideas..she is the best queen to me in the career world because she can hone energy and turn it into something tangible she is the best at manifesting on the earth plane..thus making her powerful in the career world. she can do any job/physical or mental even emotional.. oops I missed the three of cups here ha..okay well to me this is saying you work well alone, not in groups, perhaps you need to stay focused on your work for it to benifit you rather than working with others that can derail you of your goals or perhaps just get you off target. the devil as the outcome to me says that you will stay in a useless eviroment or that the job situation you are presently in has you trapped leaving you feeling bound to it, when you have outgrown it,..the devil can be attachment to things/place/people that do not serve us for the better but the worst..does that make sense? so if your in a job or not, perhaps the spread is saying that your natural skills will get you far that could be even healing or teaching. let me know if you do the spread again , hope I helped a bit here:)

OOoo, thanks for your comments, I was hoping you'd help me out Well, good thing I don't have to act, phew I'd suck at it. Something mundane, like laying bricks??? I'm not good at working with my hands either, so that leaves out pretty much most work having to do with physical labor. What do you think seven of cups means? I interpreted it putting fantasies into something tangible, especially in combination with the queen of pentacles. But I still have a feeling like I'm missing some major meaning. I think you were right on track with the devil...I'm attached to my job, but it's slowly killing me...Hmm..natural talents, now I just have to discover what they are

your welcome darlin,I would do this spread again just to see what comes up, but the 7 of cups is a very unclear card because it is a wishful card meaning we don't see the entire picture or we are too scattered and can not focus on one thing..too many options or not any at all seeing it was reversed. the pentacles are actually good at any thing, like I said even healing professions because they have a connection more with the earth.any physical job, not necessarily physical labor but maybe something where your using your mind and hands together does that make sense for example a typist/cashier/someone who handles money or papers of some kind, maybe even computer work..your still using your hands right lol..
I agree here..but the card was reversed, try doing a reading without reversals just to see what they show to you. maybe try a one card spread that way its less confusing,..good luck! ya know as your working with the tarot your dreams may reveal the answers to you as well..*wink*

Ha ha, I was reading your post, and then I was like oh yeah, dreams and I went and wrote down mine for today. Anyway, I'll do a one card draw right now. My question: What position is the best for my personal development right now? I feel like I should take a break from doing tarot readings for a while. I don't know how to explain, but I feel I don't need more information right now, I just need to listen better, and to be guided where I need to go. I think additional information only confuses me more. Hmm..like this card, it could have so many meanings..The obvious one is helping people. Helping people with what? Maybe find a way to be happy despite their limiting believes. Seems too abstract. I mean I can just imagine myself going to an interview and saying "Yeah...I wanna help people..find themselves." Any ideas?

lol yeah I see what your saying, and it can be quite confusing, I would just go with your instincts and whatever comes to you when you open up to the cards.. this is actually a poverty card, or material loss of some kind..but to me it is spiritualy wealthy yet physicaly poor..that is what I see in this card anyway.

Ronni, that's what I was thinking too. So maybe a position that satisfies my spiritual world, even if it doesn't pay very much. I'll let you know how it goes!

Hi Ronni! I am a loan officer for a small private bank (comission based). I told my boss today that I'm looking for another job...So please, keep your fingers crossed for me. There's gotta be something good that comes out of this, but meanwhile it might be a little tough...

So much for a break! ;D Today I asked about the best way to act in order to find my next job (but actually I implied a little more in the question such as finding my calling and growing spiritually). Here's my answer: Trusting my intuition and continuing to look within myself for answers... I must say I really like one card spread...It's a lot less confusing for a newbie like me.

lol yeah I agree, I often do the one card spread for simple answers, and the high priestess to me tells me you already know the answer to your question, however you just haven't realized it yet.. also a dreaming card, ask your dreams for help if you need to, see what they show you darlin. and good luck with the job search..

Another question about the job search. What about a job will I really enjoy? This probably indicates clear thinking for me and intellectual stimulation. To clarify this card: I have to go right now but I will think about it some more...

cool, okay so far so good with the cards darlin, with the knight of cups I would say something emotional, where you can use your emotions in your work, now with the ace it is a thinking card, but perhaps a job where it aligns mind and heart..the ace is also adversity, using positives to wipe out the negatives..it can be a struggle card as well, but what it means is that by using adversity you will get what you want, which sometimes we must wait for.. perhaps the knight is saying there is something new coming in for you to do..perhaps even creative.

Beautiful Cards lena. I hope you dont me putting my two penny's worth in. The knight of Cups i also see as someone who needs to think before he leaps. Even underneath your rider there is a mouse in the scrub. Mice to me is to scrutinise.. Maybe a job where you are doing research or even a library? Love and Light Good luck with your job hunting.

Thank you guys for your input!! I've been sort of afraid to come back to this topic. I don't know, I guess since I have so many anxieties related to my job search, that I seem to have a block on some way when it comes to my intuition, that I use in other areas of my life with some success. Some input definitely helps!! Some random thoughts on these two. Knight of Cups: Hmm..I noticed the mouse too. So maybe something routine that outbalances the dreaminess of cups. That's funny that you suggested research, DancingBear, ya know, I was just writing in my job search journal that one thing that people remarked more than once to me is that I seem to be very good at finding information. But the question still stands. What information? Where? What field? Also, in some way, it links to seven of cups reversed. Maybe balancing my fantasies with the actual reality, putting those fantasies to use. Does seem to point to something creative. LilacSky, yeah, also seem to point in the emotional direction. I mean I have so much energy in my emotions, so why not put it to a good use? I asked my friend what I should do. He said find something you are passionate about and start with a small step. He said is there something you can do 24 hours and not get tired...I was like hmm..well I can read, process ideas, try to organize them in my mind, etc. Ace of Swords: That to me most of all symbolizes thinking, hmm..ok so maybe using my mind to help people.. So specifically what comes to mind is research, but not purely technical, something that involves my heart and creativity too. Here is a new card. I asked about more specific field/area I should go into. And the Hierophant came up. That's really interesting because I did a reading before about the subject and this is the card that I remembered from back then. In fact, I wondered if it has something to do with Five of Pentacles card because it has a very similar background. Crazy! Doesn't religion or some spiritual occupation come to mind right away? At least now I feel like I'm close to something..Coolness. Still not completely sure what direction this card would point to.

Hi Lena The heirophant also denotes seeking help to put things together.. You could use a jobsearch organisation to help you out... I do not know if you have them over there.. We have a Job search places over here, you go in a talk to someone about all your likes dislikes etcc.. then they put it all together and come up with options for you.. You choose a couple of jobs you'd really like to do... They put you into a data base then when a job comes up that fits what you have chosen they give you a call and you set up interviews etc... These job search bases also do you up resumes and all... It's all Government run, so no cost to you... I really hope you have a place over there like it to help.. Or maybe become the Heirophant? A Counsellor, A teacher, All a big guess here.. I automatically thought computer research , telephone help lines like the banks and telecommunications have.. I hope you find out soon what you would like to do.
