I have been quickly going through the various posts here and have noticed a lot of people get stuck on a dream or wonder how to broaden themselves beyond certain experiences in the dream state. Here is a very old technique - - and if it has already been posted here somewhere - - I apologize for the repeat.
When you awaken from a dream that you wish hadn't ended quite the way it did - - for whatever reason - - be it a fearful dream or one that simply ended too soon or one where you wished you had become more involved in the dream in some way - - simply go in and rewrite your dream. I am NOT suggesting here that you go in and re-enter your dream. I am suggesting here that upon awakening - - and this can be done some other time too if you wish altho right after the dream is the most beneficial - - close your eyes and begin to simply replay your dream. Take it right up to the point where you wish it had gone "another way" - - for whatever reason - - and from that point on - - simply rewrite your dream in your own preferred scenario. Once done - - simply turn it all loose back into Spirit.
This gives you distinct practice in all kinds of things. You can rewrite dreams so that you get more proficient in becoming lucid. You can rewrite dreams where you are running from something / someone and you turn to fight - - and win. You can rewrite dreams to any end that you wish - - and this gives Soul "practice" in handling It's own dream world. If a dream is troubling in any way - - rewrite it !! It only takes minutes.
Soul learns by experience - - and this gives It experience - - to the extent that you can devise the dream experience to your own preferences. Over time - - this practice can bring about a tremendous broadening of capabilities and awareness. You can rewrite to recognize triggers - - ask for assistance - - solve and resolve issues and problems - - etc.
In this sense you are beginning to take greater control over the entire dream state. You can direct this in any direction you wish. As with anything - - there may be karmic implications involved. If you begin to use this technique to take control over someone else's life or to promote power over others - - things could get rather sticky when it comes time to balance all of that out. If someone attacks you though - - you have the right to defend yourself - - in any way you deem necessary. This is a good technique to use to get better acquainted with defending yourself in the dream state - - in many ways - - under many conditions. You've all seen many DVD's and such. Use some of the ploys and tactics used in defense in movies. This is *your* dream state. You can make it anything you wish.
Try it for a while. See what happens.
