Hiya all! Just reading about Ronni's dream, something just popped into my head. I was just wondering if anyone talks in their sleep or sleepwalks, or even believes this could induce an obe. The reason I ask is because ever since I was a child my dreams would be so realistic, that if I was fighting with my sister in my dream, and she happened to be sleeping next to me in the bed, I'd actually be punching her or kicking her in real life, but I'd be asleep. I would never remember the stuff. I don't believe I've sleepwalked, but I have conversations with my husband while I'm sleeping and he's awake. It kinda puzzles him, and he tells me I sit right up in the bed with my eyes open and talk to him. I never remember this stuff, but it's happened all my life! Anyone else have similar experiences! Thanks!

well I don't think I have ever done this, but my sister used to talk to me all the time, and I would ask her questions and she would anwer, lol, but hmm, It is possible to induce obe's I think, becuase if we remain a bit conscious of whats going on around us while we sleep we could have someone make suggetions for us, like "you are out of body" or "you are aware you are dreaming" kind of like a sublimenal messages ya know, maybe you should try this, since you are aware of your surroundings!

I don't sleep walk, but I sleep talk all the time. One time I was dreaming & talking to my bf about this shiny silver car in the parking lot...in my dream I was talking to him, and in real life he was next to me, listening to what I was saying. So he asked out loud "What car?" and I heard him say that in my dream. I was so puzzled in my dream becuase he was standing right next to me, how could he not know what car I was talking about. Well I rose up out of bed, pointing my finger in the air, saying "That car!" as I woke up...little did I know he was just messing with me while I was asleep.
I'm not so sure the sleep talking would help me OBE, just because the times that I do sleep talk, I seem to be very involved in the dream- the dreams are usually very realistic, so I think I would have a hard time becoming conscious of the dream & getting lucid. But that's just me, I'm sure others could be different & it could possibley help to OBE.

That's true Ronni, maybe I should have someone try to suggest something if I talk in my sleep, I could actually do it, like it's acting like my subconcious telling me to do it. Does that make sense? LOL! Oh well! We'll see what happens! Peace

I agree Summer, some dreams just seem so realistic... I guess if they weren't, I'd be able to control them better! Guess I better start practicing! Kronic

yeah that makes alot of sence actually, so maybe u should try it and see what happens, Kronicgirl, or you could start doing lucid dream work, I have added a guide to astralabyss site, if you haven't read it already maybe that will help you.

Contrary to what my nickname might suggest, I've never sleepwalked before. Sleepwalking is what I called astral projecting before I knew what it was.
I talk in my sleep a LOT. When I was at boarding school last year, my roommate would tell me all of the weird things I said in my sleep that night. Like, apparently I talked about a "mushroom dome" in my sleep one night and didn't want it to be destroyed or something like that.
There are many occassions when I can remember being dead asleep and waking myself up with this weird noise I sometimes make when I'm asleep; it's like a groan/moan. I think that maybe after waking myself up with that noise I can get out of body. I'm not sure...I'll have to try that out.

When I was a kid I would sleepwalk all the time. I would wake up, or get woken up, and think that I have to do something, and I would do the closest thing possible to it. Such as getting ready for school (I went into the bathroom and played with the hairspray), or going to the kitchen (I hit the corner of the entertainment-center and knocked myself out). Nothing good. And for talking, I often wake up not knowing anything around me. Like I'm from another planet. And you have no idea how ugly humans are when you have never seen one before. Often my dad will kiss me before he goes to work, and I scream or go "Who are you??", and just lately I've said "Where did you come from??". Hah.

I do sleepwalk quite often and a few times have woken up on the sofa when I went to sleep in bed. When I was younger I once woke up in my parents garden in my nightgown. Hmmmm, maybe I should still wear a nightgown in bed now or I might end up in a similar situation as Rob. Oh Rob, Please do tell more, I can't wait to hear! He he! ;D

Needless to say, after walking in my sleep that one night, I ended up on the couch, but then I started dreaming. I was dreaming about sex, and evidently my body was acting out the act. So there I was, nude, asleep, humping the couch. A female friend came down for water in the middle of the night. Not girlfriend, just friend. And got an eyeful of a sleepwalkers sleepy sex.
There, I said it. Now forget it.

LOL Rob, That takes some guts to post that story - I can't even imagine what was going through that girls mind!
Ennui- that's funny, I've had a few occasions where I've been really disoriented upon waking - most of the time it's only if I stay the night at a friends house or go stay at our cabin up north. I'll wake up in the middle of the night, all confused, wondering where the heck I am.
I'm changing my original answer, because there was one occasion that I sleep walked. I don't recall anything other than going to bed in my room, when I woke up then next morning I was on the floor in my brothers room...but I don't know for sure if I sleep walked - I kind of dismissed the incident because I thought that maybe I got scared in the middle of the night & slept in his room because I was afraid...so, who knows.
