Yeh we did do a study way back when i joined up in the forum. cant remember when that was. I was studying the Harmonious which i no longer have, Lena has it now LOL! Lena i dont get along with rider waite LOL! Or the other way round I only get along with druidcraft Or at tiems the Buckland Romani.. which i have only just recently picked up.. Of course i still love the Voyager. But to read with that has trusty readings is my druidcraft.. BRomani is coming in close second.
Section 8 I havent read with Tarot for long about 5-6 years.. But i have been reading for over 25 years.. I started off a Palm reader then onto the Runes I still do both of those but for clients the Tarot seems to be more of a draw card than Palm reading or Runes these days.. so Tarot is the most popular one i read with. But i love all of them.. Oh and the Pendulum has somehow slipped in there LOL!!

Yeh i have a Rose quartz set (dont use that either LOL!) I use my trusty old handmade one , i carved out of wood many years ago.. The Pendulum is awesome and i use that with a cloth pedulum chart , just love it for using in cold cases. works a dream.
Cast your runes as in, put hand in and grab a heap and throw them. read those that are facing up. the runes closest to you are more now , as it gets further away you start looking into the future. as with Tarot ask open questions.
One great way of starting questions i have learnt is a few very easy words to remember..
If you start a question with
What - you will get facts. Why _ Reasons How - you will get the process Could- will get the general picture..
So depending on the answers you want. just remember how to phrase it so it all makes sense.
If you decided you want short answers draw one or two runes.. (it can be for Tarot also)
phrase your questions starting with
do, is or are. Like 'Do' you think, or , 'Is' such and such going to happen. or 'are' so and so going to get together. Stuff like that..

cool, I never thought of tossing them out like that, how neat! and it makes sense how you would read them like that, so yah Im gonna try it, course I dont know what many of the runes mean still but I can always look them up, and I was thinking of making my own tarot deck but I lack the supplies right now, but Ive always wanted to do that and I bet its more accurate that way wouldnt ya think? like are your runes you made by hand more accurate than your roesquartz ones?? your so creative db, thats awesome you made your own, I guess I could make my own with some plain ol rocks and just put the symbols on them, I liek the idea of wood ones though for sure.

Rocks are still good.. because it is in the marking of your rune that has a lot of the ritual . marking them knowing what each mark means becomes kind of special. its a personal journey you go through when marking them, Let me know what you experience when you do it Yes i have created a deck for myself it was of all of John Waterhouse paintings. Brilliant stuff.. But like you lacked the stuff to finish it off.. and never did get round to buying one of thsoe blank decks.. and then even if i did there would be no guarantee that my printer could take them... So have left it all on disc... waiting waiting LOL! I would love to do one that was completely personal.. like no theme , just personal.. like a personal journey with each card. now that would be cool.. I am getting ideas as i write this up LOL!! maybe we coudl start a thread that is a personal journal for ourselves as we are creating this deck.. I will be in it!! If you are willing also.. it would be nice to have a creative buddy! Like i mean you create yours and i will create mine. I would probably start at the Fool.. I always see him as taking that big chance , that flying leap of faith. New Beginings stuff like that.. I would have to think about what i would use.. I am thinking a theme might be an idea to keep me on track and help me with ideas though.. I do love france and anything from the Montemarte region , Moulin rouge , that sort of era with Le trec, Impressionism, theatre.. so i would probably mould it around that maybe if i were to stick with a theme.

yahh, that would for sure be cool and thats what I was thinking of doing, making the cards personal, more relative to my self and the journey of the cards as my life ya know, how cool! what would I use to get started though? thats the thing I dont know how to go about starting it and what type of cards would I use? and paints or pensils or what lol I would do it for sure, I think I would actually use the cards for readings too more than my other decks ya know. sooo maybe pick out a theme first...? hmmm Ill have to think on it but thanks db for the great ideas!

Great discussions. I have never got into runes, but it sounds interesting! Do you guys know anything about Geomancy? It sounded kind of similar with runes but I'm really unsure. I bought some rocks to paint symbols on, but I never got down to it. That's a great idea to make your own Tarot deck! Are either of you very artistic?

Creating an all personal deck would be amazing! So much creative and intuitive work would be involved too. I don't feel like I know Tarot well enough for that, but wow, what an awesome project that would be. Of course, my drawing and painting skills would not be sufficient, so it'd be all Photoshop based. It might be expensive, but you could send to a professional printer, when all done and finished. I think you girls should do that. It'll be my pleasure to watch

Oh, I just wanted to mention, that I had great fun with my Slavic runes, but then because I only made them with a marker on stone, they faded quickly, so my intention is to create a set, engraved into stone or done with a more permanent paint. Really looking forward to playing with those once again. Oh, and wow, it seems like Druidcraft is a winner, as far as Tarot decks go! I'll have to look into Buckland Romani and Voyager. I bet getting a new deck would motivate me to use them once again.

I'm going to have to look into Druidcraft. I didn't know it was so popular. I think I might look into ruins also. Getting a new deck is always motivation.

nice... I currently think my favourite has to be pagan tarot 2000 as that has a lot of symbolism in it but also I am a big fan of the sirian starseed tarot as well so I tend to use that an awful lot, as love the colourfulness of the deck. Another favourite is mystic dreamer.

I will have to check those decks out for sure! I like subtle decks where they focus on just a few details instead of being too busy, lol ya know what I mean?
