What can you do whilst Lucid dreaming?

I'd love to know what others experience in Lucid dreams, what they are able to do, what reoccurring 'themes' they have?

I have not studied Lucid dreaming, So really I don't know the ins & outs at all. This is something I am going to look into. Especially via the links I have already begun to read through here.


One thing that reoccurs for me is the ability to fly wherever I want, leaving whatever situation in a dream is happening. My favourite thing to do is fly as high as I can, feeling the warmth of the earths atmosphere slowly turn cooler and cooler, through the clouds. Feeling the wind cooling my body. Above the clouds and slowly until it reaches darkness, Where I can see stars. Then I like to descend, getting warmer and warmer, and I usually fly to a coast line, where I can feel the warmth of the sand on my feet, fly over the waves, feeling the spray from the waves against me.
When I was younger I began to fly in dreams, often losing the ability half way through my journey up and then falling towards the earth, at which point I would wake up. As I have gotten older I have been able to hone the ability to fly and I never fall anymore. It is to the point where sometimes I skip the flying part all together and just teleport but that's not as much fun.


An ability in lucid dreaming I have started to develop over the past few years is like that of Matilda, being able to move things with my mind, or my hands without actually touching the object. This started with simple things like switching on lights switches across a room by just a swift movement of the hand to eventually progressing into being able to move buildings. I remember a dream a year or so ago where I was very upset, there was a crowd around me, trying to hurt me so I simply parted the crowd, making people fly out of view either side of my arms. 


These are the two main things I can do, which I enjoy a lot. I like being able to choose places in this world or others to go to. Anything I can think up, it's also nice to be able to wake myself up or decide to carry on with dreams.


I'd love to know what others do in their Lucid dreams??

I would like to think anything I can think up is possible within the lucid dream... However there are things I've tended to gravitate more towards. First is movement and travel. Flying has always been my favorite method and it's amazing at how many different techniques and ways to fly there are. Another is teleportation. Though what I used to like to do is take off flying and tell myself when I land I'll be in another place far away and usually end up in magical places doing this. The flying aspect never seems to get old to me. I love showing off to me dream characters that I can fly and then get them to fly with me. So awesome! Another form of travel is just intending myself to what I see. So If I look across my dreamscape and see somewhere I want to be, I will myself there and am instantly there. I got really good at this years ago but it's been awhile since I've worked with this.

For awhile I was working with shape shifting in my LD's and could change myself into different animals. I remember jumping into the water and turning into a fish... or was it a frog.. lol It's in my dream journal here somewhere hahaha.

Lately though I've been working more with communicating with my dream characters. I want to have meaningful conversations and see if there's lucid dreaming lessons I could learn from them/me...

I'm sure I've missed quite a few lucid dreaming abilities... lol but I don't have them as often as I used to. I think it has much more to do with my will and intention vs ability. Thanks for this forum becoming active again, I may begin to hone my abilities back to where they were and beyond...!

One of the main focuses for myself in my dreams is the unknown. Doing and seeing new things I have not done before and even dreamed of doing lol. I learned long ago to intend the unknown into my dreams and allow my awareness to let go without my own volitional control. And so one of my favorite things to do in lucid dream is just to be aware of the unknown, the mystery. Thats said I also work with what I know in my dreams. If and when I am learning something new, like transforming objects, or the law of attraction etc I realize that these lessons are also deep within the dream layers, the consciousness. I like to connect to the source of all knowledge and dive deeper into in my dreams. I channel while waking too but I intend for my dreams to carry any lesson I am learning deeper in my dreams. Te dreaming body for myself is more fluid and can move faster then the consciousness of my waking world and so the lessons and realizations I receive in dreaming are always better, deep, expanded. I like to do the tradional things in my dreams too, like flying and shapeshifting, but I dreamwalk lucidly during my waking life. I realie whaile awake that this dream can be anything and so I carry my dream awareness with me during the waking world.

I think that for me lately one of my most elaborate things I am able to do is wake myself up if I don't like how a "normal" dream is going..and that too me is awesome, also I have the innate ability to go back to a dream to see its outcome, If I am awoken suddenly from it.
For myself its not the lucid dreams that necessarily play the key roles in my dreaming abilities now...its more of what I can alter through my waking states which in return alter my dreams..its just so neat and I am happy and truly pleased with the time and effort I put into them, it really has paid off in so many ways.

Me too Ronni, my waking state greatly effects my dreaming. I can intend during waking time what to do in my dreams and later find myself doing that exactly as I intended. That goes for most things i can think of while waking. including letting go for the new unknown lessons to be reached, but i still do it form my waking mind. In sorcery they would call us stalkers who are stalking the dreams. I don tknow how familiar you are with Carlos Castaneda's knowledge but he classifies dreaming and stalking go hand in hand. Some are better stalkers and some are better dreamers. I have always thought you a better dreamer but lately i think you are a great stalker too. Especially what you say about controlling your dreams from a waking state. That is pure stalker greatness I didnt think many knew how to do this either, not like i do, ut here you come right out and say it.. It takes a high level of awareness to achieve this state. I am impressed.

This is really interesting, I had never thought about creating characters. Im usually alone in these types of dreams, which doesnt bother me. Because I do enjoy being alone. Maybe I will try creating characters and see whats happens. I love waking myself too, I like to feel a layers of the dream state peeling away, each layer different and interesting, to consciousness. Then putting the layers slowly back on and changing things around or starting out new.
