Just a few questions on dream journaling...
I was wondering which method all you use to record your dreams.
I myself use just microsoft word. I used to record in a notebook but have found I can type much faster. I normally wake and right down notes of a dream and then record onto my computer right after waking or when I have the time. Normally if I don't record in the morning it's because I have work or somewhere to be.
Does anyone here use any kind of dream journaling software and if so which one?
Awhile ago I was looking into them because I like the idea that most of them you can make cetain words in your entry's bold as to represent common dream sybols or things you see. Then you can just type in a word and it will pull up all the dreams with it in it for easy referencing. So if you have a dream with some TEXT and highlight TEXT and then years later you have a dream again with some TEXT you can type it in and it will pull up the dream from years ago instead of having to search through your entries or table of contents.
Next I was wondering of how you decide to sepereate your dreams in the morning. That didn't come out very good but what I mean for example is... When I wake and right my dreams down I have to try to figure out which parts of dreams go with what dream so I can log them as being seperate or whatever. It's easier if I wake after the dream and right notes down and then go back to sleep so later It's easier to not get things mixed up. One problem I have is sometimes I feel like I wake up from one long dream but because things in the dream can be totally different I want to make it two to three sepereate dreams which I used to do more but now if it's the last dream of the morning before getting up I assume it's all one dream no matter how many it may seem like because this is when you dream the longest.
Also I was wondering the same on lucid dreams. Since lately I've been able to string together "several lucid dreams" in a row, it's been a little different. I want to record them as being seperate but I feel like it's one long one because I can manage to keep my consciousness the whole time or most of the time. But it's weird to look in my dream journal and see that a certain day shows me being lucid once but when I read that days entries it's actually 3-4 times with three exits from from my body after one LD ends and into another one. The main reason why I count it as one is I feel just because the dreamscape fades and I lose visuals I don't lose conciousness and am able to project back out often right back into the same dream geography or scene so it seems like the same dream.
Any ways, I was just wondering all your opinions on these ideas and how you go about your journaling.
