Now that I have been remembering my dreams lately, I have been noticing something that has been puzzling me. I noticed that in my dreams I know whether I am a woman or a man, but I cannot see myself. I just get the feeling that my soul is there and I am looking out through this woman or man. Like it is me, but only my soul is me. Does that make sense? I guess my question is whether anyone else feels this way in their dreams? I don't look over everything like a movie. I am on the ground level...walking, breathing, doing like in normal life. Hope I didn't confuse anyone because I am starting to confuse myself as I write this.

No confusion. ;D
It makes total sense that you would perceive only your 'soul' as the real you. Perhaps these dreams are related to some kind of past-life issue. This might explain why you feel as though you are in different bodies, yet still essentially the same person. How frequent are these dreams? Are there any other details regarding content?

I am so glad I didn't confuse you. All my dreams seem to be in the present...at least that is how I have perceived them. I don't get the feeling that they are past life dreams. Also, I have done my numerology and by what I have done so far...it does not appear that I have any karmic debt from past lives that I would need to learn a lesson from. So I am thinking they are telling me things about this life...I guess that is why it seems confusing to me that I wouldn't see myself as I am now, but yet still know that it is me. I have put some of my dreams in this forum, but a majority of them are on my online dream journal. Feel free to look at them. I was just wondering if anyone else experiences this as well and maybe what it could mean. I am still new to remembering dreams and dream interpretation.Andin.dreamjournal.net/

andin..im a bit confused ..lol so do you see yourself as someone else, like a mirror or anything? or do you just know you are someone else? and what triggers you to feel this way? I beleive that we often dream of our other selves, however I think we are many people does that make sense? what I mean is, sometimes I think I have many parts to me..that I let go off to be here now in the physical..not nessesarily a past life, but the other part of my being..I think that is why I feel an emptiness that nothing can feel..it is something affinity only can give and that affinity lies within my other self/selves..

I can see what you mean, LilacSky. Like I have a feminine side...a masculine side...a side that likes to act like a child...one that is older and wiser, etc, etc. So you can be portrayed in your dreams as a part of yourself, but not really be yourself because it is not your whole self...just a piece. Was that what you meant?
No, I do not see myself as anyone in particular like in a mirror or from outside myself or something. I just know. It is really strange. Most of the time I am a woman...I have been a man once or twice. But I never saw myself. I could feel that it was me though so I assume it was my soul in this "other" person, which as you said could be another part of me. Strangely this is all starting to make sense to me....lol...well I was never quite sane anyway. Thanks for the other perspective.

lol well thats kind of what I meant, but not exactly, its as if I have or we all have many selves..we are actually souls that have multiply selfs within us, such as an individual not just a side of us or part of us ya know..lol Im confusing myself here.. well its in deed interesting, and I see it as a good thing for your overall spritual developement, its as if you are being awakened to your higher self..or your root soul/self..so thats awesome!

Yeah...I am confused now too...lol...but I do think that I have grown a lot lately so maybe my dreams are reflecting that in the way I am portrayed in those dreams. That and I am playing catch up for not remembering them for so long. ;D

I think I know what you mean andin. I've had a dream/OBE where I woke up in a dream and I was in another woman's body. The lower part of this woman's body was paralized. I had a dream of her previous where I saw her in her yard taking care of her roses. She had roses all over her back yard, and she was tending them in a wheelchair.
It really freaked me when I woke up in her body. She had a mirror beside her bed and I turned my head and it was her and I was in her body. The real freaky part was that several weeks later I saw this same lady in her wheel chair buying another rose bush. The only thing was this was in waking life. This lady lives somewhere here in this town of one close by.
I then had another dream/OBE where I was walking and I went into her house as though it was my own house, but when I got inside I realized I was in some one elses house and about that time I hear people talking and looked out the window and it was her with a friend and they were coming in. I ran and tried to find the back door but I wasn't able to because I didn't know that house. There was a lot more to the dream, but I'll end here. Pretty weird, huh?

So you didn't know this woman in your dream until you saw her in person? I haven't actually had these types of experiences where it was someone I've seen in real life later. That is so interesting to me. Could it be your dream was trying to tell you to get to know this woman? Maybe there is some sort of insite she can share with you. Have you seen her again since that time? Sorry for so many questions, but I am fascinated by this.

I do not know her name or where she actually lives. Even if I drove around all the neighborhoods to see if I could find her house, I don't know if I could actually recognized it.
When I saw her in the store it gave me the willie gellies so bad I just got away from there as fast as I could. I'm a scare-tee cat at times.
Yeah, another person on another forum told me that I probably have some kind of connection with her somehow. Maybe I'll be a little braver if I ever see her again. It's been over a year since I had that last dream about her, I may have missed the opportunity.
