Has anyone ever had this happen to them. I was really tired today due to lack of sleep last night (sick child--better now) so I went to take a nap like at 2:30 pm or something. Just as I was drifting off to sleep I kept on feeling like someone was kicking me from behind. I really felt it or thought I did. I would start to wake up for a moment and as I started to drift off again it would happen again. This went on a few times. I don't know if I just thought I was waking up each time or if I was still asleep. I felt like I was waking up and then drifting back to sleep each time. Anyone else have this happen before or recently?

Not to me. It is quite interesting though. I'm curious if this happens to others as well or even a possible explanation for it.

Maybe your (spirit guide/higher self) trying to help you wake up. (mind awake, Body asleep) To help you induce an obe. Or him/her telling you to get off your butt and try to achive and work towards your goals. (Whatever they may be.) What do your future goals look like? Anything is possible. Even changing copper to gold. (Years of practice modifiying the atomic structure of copper to resemble that of gold using meditation and the limitless power of your mind.)

That is a fairly common happening in the trance states. I have read and heard of many people experiencing similar things, and they have happened to me often. I have been meditating now for about 5 years and I try to at least meditate an hour each day.
When my mom was sick this past spring/early summer, I was helping to take care of her after she came home. One night she kept me up almost all night, so when she took a nap that next day, I took one with her and just as I was about to fall asleep I felt a hand on shoulder. I sensed that the person who hand it belonged to was giving me comfort. It felt so real I jerked awake expecting someone had come in without me hearing, but no one physical was there.
At night while sleeping, I''ve had the sensation of having the covers pulled off. I would say most often that it is a guide helping us to be aware while the body is sleeping.
So yeah, when it happens, it a good time to practice OBE. Just don't allow yourself to think about it too much though, because that will cause you to become physically awake.

Now that's even more interesting CC. I can see where it makes sense. The feeling of the covers being pulled off has happened to me too. I just never would have associated that to this type of experience. Thanks for pointing that out.

Lol...maybe someone thought I didn't need any sleep! (I did...believe me!) I'm not really ready for the whole OBE thing yet. But I think if it happens again, then I will try to pay more attention in case someone is trying to tell me something. I was also thinking that maybe strange things were happening because we are getting closer to halloween? Just a thought.

I agree here with cc, I think it is your higher awareness trying to get your attention andin, and I think often times we are in a state where we can take control of the subconscious and direct it to leaving the body..I have felt these things as well but for the most part they were just as I was entering the hypnogogic state..and usually I ended up in a lucid dream or out of my body..so yeah go with it !
