today I was dead tired and I laid down to take a nap..It took a bit to fallsleep..anyway..something happend to me..I do not know what the hell it was, I was not fully aware really and I do not recall any dreams.
I felt myself falling...I mean this is hard to explain, I felt myself falling within myself..it scared me so bad I woke up almost imediatly...I know this is important because the way I felt , I can not describe it. I was wondering if anyone had a similiar expereince.. I have had falling expereinces in the hypnogogic state, but nothing like this before. also I feel that me falling...is a huge symbol of some kind..but I am not going to declare it to be a bad thing because something is telling me it is not.

I get that falling feeling quite often. It's weird and hard to describe, so I can't really say what I think it is. Just that often I get it just before I leave my body to go on a journey. It's often accompanied by tingling in body and weird separting from self sensations, but not always.

Hmm lilac. Maybe it had to do with you being really tired. I know when I'm just exhausted that sometimes it's still hard to fall to sleep but when I do it's like my consciousness drops so fast it creates this incredible falling feeling that can will wake me up instantly. But it seems to me like you've gone so sleep exhuasted plenty in your time and this seems to be different that you've experienced before so I'm not sure.

Wow, Roni that is an experience, was it pitch black? The only thing I can think of is when I had a blunt object upside the head and fell deep within an inner darkness to escape the pain. When I was there it was like sinking in the depths of the darkest sea, and I realized I shouldn’t stay there too long or I might not find my way back.
I wouldn’t say it was bad place to be either, just my experience getting there was.

Thanks for the replys everyone..um like I said it was very odd feeling, I did not see anything, but it was not all black either..I seen a pinkish color thats about it lol im still very lost to what it was, but I know it meant something, perhaps it was from being overtired..however the feeling told me othewise, there was something more there.

That sounds like an experience I get occasionally. It's in the middle of sleep, either REM or stage 4 and my experience is a feeling of terror, followed by a falling sensation (I can actually feel this) and I'm going down a deep well or basement made of concrete. As I fall, I'm also spinning, like a record on a turntable---for those of you old enough to remember turntables!

Hey Lilacsky this has only ever happened so dramatically once before to me.It was in a period of sadness for me i was in my head most of the time ( thinking too much) and yet more concerned about the material and physical.. I lay down one night , nothing had actually changed in my circumstances but i had been walking around unable to stop thinking and being concerned about the material and physical world.. and then I started falling into myself, it scared me coz i felt if i fell too far i would lose myself LOL! Like turining myself inside out... After a while of thought i realised this is actually what i was doing annalysing myself so much i may as well turned myself inside out and dissected it all.. I went through a major major change in my life around this time... from then on when i do meditate i get this sensation but a more gentler version and not so deep, but i do fall into myself and can go quite deep at times, it has shown me not to kick myself so much, and i do not need to go so deep to find myself and the answers i seek..
I do not know whether this would apply to you but this is my experience with falling into myself.
take Care
DB xx

Vertigo.....falling within ones self, the feeling of not being in control? This comes to many of us. Use your ability to realize purpose within your dream, falling from where to where? The "dream-world" has many sections, phases, areas, locations, and dimensions...sometimes to reach what your soul wants you to see, we must trust "fall" but don't think in terms of up, down, etc, for these things are illusions of the physical body. Sometimes the feeling itself is what is being conveyed, and to interrupt it is to lessen the varied richness of spiritual growth. Yet who am I.... but a mere speck in the infinite realms of existence. (and yes this has happened to me b4.)-BEZ

The falling will always be fealt. The only time you ever totally sever the connection between physical and soul or energy or whatever you prefer to call it is when you die. So you will always get this feeling. someimes its rising sometimes falling at other times flying. i think if you had not been scared back to the moment it would have been interesting....

Lilac I know this terrible feeling from my childhood, but only when I had lung-inflammation and similar which I had several times. Was falling falling falling insidely. Also I got very small like shrinking feelings. First since 5 years, since I came to WBF first time I startet to understand that it had to do with the astralbody, better said with our several energybodies, which- how I do believe -can get into a strong disharmony especially during deseases or other emotional stress-periods. So nowadays Im rather using that occurences and feelings and amplify them to get into the other-world, but when Im sick and it happens then it still does feel terrible. Awhitelight, Nani
