without getting to crazy (this is something that could easily take up a book). Ok get into a very relaxed /trance state. Than from there just picture each chakra by color. Picture/feel energy flow through from the base of your spine/or feet even, through each of the seven chakra red/base,orange/stomach,yellow/abdomen,green/heart,blue-throat ,indigo/third eye,and the crown is a bit differant but i like to picture gold or clear white light. I channel energy from the earth up through each and as i go picture each one opening up and activating breath in deeply and inhale energy as you breathe deeply in. Now you also need to go from the crown to the earth and this i almost always picture as channelling and healing as it flows it takes all toxins, chemicals etc...down and into the earth breathing out slowly and steadily (always breathe fluidly).By the way the crown chakra is said to look like a thousand petalled lotus and i just use that it slowly opens as you are transferring energy.Just picture the energy from everything going in the top and and through to the earth and always remember everything the earth and even the entire universes energy i always picture as being shared with me. Once you do this for a while try channeling up and down both. Hope this helps a bit like i said its easily a book. After a little while i will post a good mantra for each chakra also and that will help a huge amount. I almost always use aroma theropy and music while doing this. Just make sure you picture the chakra centered in your body and not along your spine and then you can imagine whatever you like as far as how they look. Usually though they are in a spiral pattern and they expand to cover huge distances as you build energy. Give this a try for a few times and you will physically feel it in no time. Also make sure you are well grounded nothing or just socks on your feet and planted firmly on the ground and sit so your spine is straight not slouched. I like things simple so i hope it helped a bit. Here are a few links to give a little more help. www.crystalinks.com/chakras.html This sight is awesome... www.neholistic.com/articles/0064.htm soo is this.. Just google chakra you will find soo much it will take a week to read. The ones i put are a couple of favorites. Deepak Chopra has a great cd i use regularly and even after just one time i could tell. There are also two chakra above and below your physical body but you should just avoid those at this point.

I guess if you still want a visualization based method then NEW is the way to go. But I don't know about any "fast" ways. It all takes time and commitment.
Qi gong and yoga's methods are not as visualization based, if at all. NEW MAY be faster, but there are centers I can ONLY activate with qi gong and not NEW.

That as something i wanted to mention. NO matter what you use to open the chakra it is no certainty that you will actually get them all open. As you continue to train and learn you will come to feel and know when they are open. Than from there it is easier because you can channel the open chakra energy to the others. Most people have certain ones that are easy for them depending on Soooo many things. Common ones are the base/root chakra (most people are pretty darn comfortable with there attachment to the earth). And the diaphragm chakra or third/orange chakra this is our instinct and in this world fairly popular to have already opened. But that does not at all mean that you will not have some differant ones already opened and in use. It will change from time to time but you will learn this over time and with study of yourself.

Though I like 'meditation', and I love visualisation, and especially for the higher chakras.. For me the best way to open your chakra's is self-examination, especially for the lower chakras. I call it the 'hands-on' approach. Observe yourself, your behaviours, your habits, how your interact with people, and the feelings you experience, or lack thereof. Observe the functions of the chakra you are working with. For example the spleen chakra, or sacral, is for feelings, emotional needs, boundaries, trust, warmth, intamacy, pleasure, attachment and letting go. Look within and be honest with yourslef, then make any necassary changes. Awareness is the key to opening, and aligning chakras, I think.
