I have a problem with dreams that is slowing me down for obe i believe. I never remember my dreams. When i sleep all night i never remember anything the next morning. The only time i remember is when i wake up and fall back to sleep than i almost always have vivid memories of the dream. I always try to tell myself before sleep and even through out the day, "I am going to remember my dreams" or "i am going to be concious during my dreams". Help!!! i believe this to be my #1 problem for an obe experiance.

This is the first thing you are going to be taught in that course you are taking in April. What they do is give you a mantra that helps dream recall. I don't think it would hurt for you to have a jump on using this mantra. It is raom_gaom. You say it drawn out like rrrrrrrraaaaaaooooommmm (take a breath) ggggggaaaaaaaoooooommmmm. The r is suppose to be trilled which I have not been able to sound out a trilled r, but they said it was okay to just say it within rather than out loud. So within I can make the trilled r. Anyways, you just say this mantra upon waking up from a dream.... try not to move your physical body. I got the ideal to say it before I fall asleep at night as well and that was a big help. So I say it as I go to sleep and when I wake up and it really does help in dream recall. Not allowing your body to move upon waking is a big key as well. Also, to help intent along, as many have suggested, it helps to bring a paper and pen to bed and placed where you can get to it without much movement to take notes of what you've dream through the night. That helps a lot, too.

Thank you i will give this a try. The pen and paper thing im going to have to skip on, since my wife is a devout christian and would NEVER understand why i was writing down my dreams.
I went through a phase in life that was pretty rough while in the military. I remember thinking to myself i dont want to dream (after weeks maybe monthes of nightmares). Since than i really remember nothing. I dont know if its because im a deep sleeper or because of this time in my life. Hopefully it is the former because there is a state that you can enter in very deep sleep (at the link i posted for kundalini).

Quote: However, in Yoga Nidra, you leave the Waking state, go past the Dreaming state, and go to Deep Sleep, yet remain awake.I went to that website to see if I could find what you where talking about deep sleep. Hehe .... when I first click on I thought this was going to be like trying to find a needle in a hay stack with only one clue that it was at the bottom of the page, but I seem to have this magic ablitiy to find things on websites and sure enough I went right to it, no problem. Anyways, can you do that? ..remain awake while being in deep sleep. I can. A lot of time when I meditate, I end up with my body falling asleep while my mind is still very much awake. I can even lay there and listen to myself snore for a long time. Yesterday, in mediation I was able to be aware of my physical heart beat,at the same time being aware of my heart chakra beat. That was a first for me. It seemed real cool thing to be doing. Also, when you are in that state you are on seconds away from separating the physical and astral bodies. I was in the christian scene for a good 15 to 20 years and I never knew we were not suppose to remember our dreams or write them down. There is a lot of stuff in the bible about dreams and dream interpretation. I was just wondering what type of chriatian church your wife belongs to that they don't have anything to do with dreams and think that it is wrong to write them down. I have never heard of that before. My husband says he never dreams, but I know he does because he physcially acts them out at times. He was in the Viet Nam war. I think he probably was able to shut down his consciousness of having them back then. The more we close off about ourselves into the subconscious the more asleep we will be even when we are so called awake in the physical. The more aware we are while we are asleep at night, the more aware/awake we will be in the day time hours.

My wife would think that it is silly and not real. And after that she would ask her mom who intern would ask her pastor and that would be where he would say thats not christian to do. I may be wrong but im sure it would be something close to that. Or she would ask me why and of course i would tell her that my goal is to project and that would be terrible. I have my beliefs and she has hers i never speak about them to her or usually anyone else except here. Now for the Yoga Nidra, You are a touch off i think, what you do is lucid dreaming. With yoga nidra there is no dream there is no snoring there is no awareness. Its beyond dreaming. You are still well within a state that i cannot reach (lucid dreaming) but the way its explained you are past even that with yoga nidra. I believe this for me is actually an easier state to reach because of my deep sleep pattern. No i cannot yet do that remember im the noob.

Well no, I'm not dreaming at the time. My mind is just awake hearing/aware of my asleep body sleeping. Lucid dreaming is being aware when you are dreaming. When you are dreaming, you are in the astral realm already, but in a dream state. You can, upon becoming aware that you are dreaming, stop the dream and become aware of the astral. You're no longer in a dream, but experiencing the astral realm/reality at that point. When I'm lying or setting there hearing my physical body asleep., I'm not in the astral. My astral body has not separated yet. I am kind of like you... with my husband, who cliams to be an atheist. When I was into christianity, I was not allowed to speak of it and what I'm into now he thinks is even more weird. ;D I have spoke of it to all my family members. Most of them think I'm crazy. Hehe. One reason I took on the name of "crazycat". The other is because of my shadowy cat creature/neg. And the other is because I am really crazy in love with cats of all kind, except for my shadowy cat creature.

I know its been a while here but ive come a long way in such a short time. I still dont remember my dreams real well. But last night was actually the first time ive remembered 2 to 3 dreams from the same night...wooohoo. It helps so much because i have all the other work ready just need that dream to get in now...But they are coming more often. I actually found out that my wife who i fealt would be totally against this used to "practice"projection in collage she got to a point where she was floating above herself scared the shit out of herself and never tried again...She also went on to do a paper about it. So any negativity from her about this will be shot down quick..lol

Osiris....you have all the time you need to remember you "dreams" do not grow impatient. I'm not sure what your degree of focus is "before" you go into "sleep" mode. You know your mind better then anyone else. This is YOU that you are battling here. Maybe there is something you feel you SHOULDN'T remember for one reason or another. Conquer self, focus, find balance, and have the endurance to achieve this goal of yours.

Awesome, you know the more people make progress, the easier it becomes for the rest of us. I think your determination is great, and I feel it's about that time that I dedicate myself to dreams above all else. Funny about your wife, sounds like she had a real interest, if she went on to write a whole paper about it. Well I don't know about you, but I ask people on the first day if they ever had an out of body experience, then see who stays ;D Just kidding, but you know, it's kind of important to me. Kind of like I don't know if I could date somebody, if they were prejudiced about my rats.
