I just would like to add my favorite thing to get into trance that is listening to music, I have found that most music can get you into trance if you focus on one instrumant that is not heavy or hard on your ears perhaps like bongos or tangas, or maybe some indian music with lots of soothing layers of instrumants. I also get into trance by danceing, it is one of my favorite things to do, while im dancing I focus on moving my entire body to the flow of music, this relaxes me as I let my body just move to the music. another thing I do is while laying down I visualize myself dancing and I see my movemants embracing the rythum of the music. I get lost in the music and my body's energy begans to heigten as if it were the music itself... strange, but I find it very enlightening and soothing to my mind and body and soul, I love to play music as well, and I found also that playing music can easily get me into trance, I just focus on the feeling of it and let the energy run through my guitar and through me, once I left my body and I went over to my guitar and began to play, I wanted to be inside of it, so I Imagined myself in it, but I didn't actually go into the guitar, but the sound and vibrations of the music took over me, I was wrapped in the arms of my own creative force, I must say it was the most amazing feelings I ve ever expereinced. I just thought I would add that, and that music can help us greatly acheive meditative states.
here is a list of great trance music! Deleirum Dead can Dance-Spirit chaser Talking heads-Remain in light Roni Size Dead can Dance-Into the Labrinth The Verve-no come down Enigma-Greatest hits Moby-play I will ad more later, my cd's are a mess!lol the ones I listed are great, and if you guys know of some please add them!!

I own and use the following cds: They always seem to work good for me and are excellent pathways to encourage meditation and trance states, in addition to OBE's and IBE's. Music by Marcey Hamm I have the Z, Celestial Dance, Inward Harmony and Anthem to the Soul: I use the Inward Harmony most often as it doesn't interfere with my brainwaves. I'd like to get her new ones but can't afford them yet. Her site is Music by MarceyI hope others can benefit from her work as well I do; she has helped me conquer my inner demons I have felt when I relieved my back surgery and the anniversaries- a trauma from the age of 13 that really needed a meditative cleansing, big time! She has shockwave swf samples tolisten to on the Dream Partner, Maitreya and Innocence.

Yeah, music sure helps me relax, meditate and get into trance. I use cds with relaxation music as well as various nature sounds cds. But i noticed also one thing - not only smooth and calm music helps me relax. I quite often meditate with Einherjer's (it's a folk/viking metal band) music on my cd player (the albums Aurora Borealis and Blot are the best for this). Though their music is quite hard, it somehow makes me 'slow down' and forget about the outside world, maybe because it is quite heavy and monotonous, the lyrics aren't distracting because they are mostly in Norwegian and i don't understand a word in it . While listening I feel vibrating energy coming out of the guitars and vocals, heh it's great. When i concentrate on this feeling i start to get sleepy, but at the same time the rhytm holds my attention and helps me remain consciouss. That's why it's good for achieving the trance state. But i guess you have to like this kind of music for this to work.

I like totally dig it too! One of my favorite contemporary songs that really got me into trances, meditation and past lives ( and I know- you don't have to call me nuts either, LOL ) is Led Zeppelin's Kashmir. I luv it! As for metal, that's true too! I only have on cd by Evergrey and it's good for calming, the guitars and drums are great. I think any type of music can be used for meditation, as long as it works for you. Some people like folk or jazz and some can't, vice versa. Me? Personally can get into Metallica, Godsmack, Rob Zombie ( I'm addicted to Dragula! ), Siouxsie and the Banshees, Eric Clapton, Etta James, Ray Charles.... the list goes on and on! Sorry for the long post. Thanks for listening.TEXT

one of my favorite cd's for this is tesla's time's makin' changes. alot of the songs are affrimations for the very aspect i'm trying to get lost on. i.e. heaven's trail(no way out), what you give, the way it is, etc. etc. etc. it might be worth checking out if you can do the 80's metal. uumm for me it's a natural. actually it was this cd that made me more aware of the life around and in me.

I work at a Mediterranean restaurant and the guy that owns it is Turkish. He has a lot of Turkish music and I've been borrowing them and burning them to my computer. There's this one Cd in particular by an artist named Erkan Ogur and the album is called Kopruler (it's funny because it sounds like cop ruler). I've been hooked on this CD for a few days now and it's just the most peaceful awesome music I've heard. I like that there aren't many vocals going on and when there is vocal it's in Turkish so I don't get lost on trying to figure out what the person is trying to say. Lately I've been getting into more instrumental music because vocals really screw up my trance.
