eating.......lol, jk well it does raise energy does it not? anyway, hmm, I honestly don't really have any techniques, but I do lay there and extend myself by opening up, and concentrating on all the energy in the universe , and making that one with myself. sometimes I do healing energy techniques, I recite affirmations as I envison my dark energy or negative energy seeping out of my skin, this is a spiritual cleansing that I use sometimes. and anytime I give a massage I use that same cleansing I focus and visualize the neg energy flowing out of the spine, which alot of people say wow to afterwards. Since their back feels great!

A new study I am looking into that is related to prior studies I had at a dojo is Qin Na. It is supposedly superior to Yoga in its stretching techniques, although Qin Na has practical applications in the way of self-defense - actually, in my opinion, some of the most practicial applications in all of self-defense. I highly recommend books on the topic by Dr. Yang. He also has a site at: www.ymaaschool.com/index.phpHe's one of the foremost martial artists in the world, and also has great info on QiGong and Southern and Western Chinese martial arts styles. I believe that with things such as QiGong, they should be part of a more comprehensive practice that includes various mental and physical trainings (as Dr. Yang goes into much better detail on). Of course, not everyone can spend the time and dedication on this (I don't even know if I can), but there are still lots of value to be found in QiGong and Qin Na and Yoga practiced by themselves.

Hey Ronni , I've used the energy in the spine technique. It's great! If your back is sore from using it too much this tech is very theraputic. Anyway most of the time I take energy in through my feet and raise it all the way through my body, really concentrating on my head and then back down through my feet again. Sometimes I have the energy shoot from the top of my head like a fountain and let it rain down all over my body or into the air like a whale.....hehehe...... ;D.... But actually I hardly energy raise anymore. It doesn't seem to effect my projecting at all if I practice energy or not. I find that I can't raise energy and then project. It supercharges my body and I can't project. Weird.

Lisastar-It supercharges my body and I can't project. Weird well ya know, its probably becuase your body is so ready to go, it doesn't want to sleep or relax, yeah I don't really need energy techniques either, but I am willing to try to see if the results are better at all, but I do astral well without them. I do like to do mind work, and that is bacisly gaining power by affirmations and feeling it get more intense, but that is just a natural thing I do, and I don't use it for astral travel, but I use it for gaining awareness,which does help in the astral travel.

A tried and true method I have been using for years and is almost always discussed in books; hand raising with the palms. I rub my palms together, you can feel the heat quickly, and form a triangle with all my fingertips. I can't tell you how many times a day I do this, probaby over 20! One of the best resources I have found that discusses various practices is from Scott Cunnigham and Silver Ravenwolf.

silerstar- my sister does this all the time, and she got me to try it, and now I do it sometimes, yes you can actually feel the energy, what I do is rub my hands togehter for a bit really fast as I focus on a thought to send out, and I picture it forming into a ball of light, than I send it out into the world!

Energy Cream
Sometimes I use this method, not too often but I enjoy it when I do, here goes;
Lay or sit and begin relaxation. I imagine a pair of hands, like astral hands. They are holding a silvery jar, in this is shimmering silvery lotion, energy lotion. They begin to apply it to my feet and lower legs. As they are applying it, I know that my body is greatfull for this, and I am thanking my body. I am also imagining the usual energy entering through the bottoms of my feet and going up my body. The effect of this and the lotion is stimulating, like air blowing on moist skin. By the time I have completed my entire body I may be in or close to a trance state.
Don't worry too much about visualization if you are not a visual type, more important is the thought and feeling, the attention. I like this because it makes me focus on every part, and since I can make the lotion hot it can stimulate an energy field which can lead to obe state.

Odni, this is pretty cool, what a creative meditation! I don't meditate much but I think I will try this one, It seems soothing, I like to do focus work in the bathtub, and healling work as well in the bath, maybe this will be good for that as well.

I like to use Kundilini Yoga to raise my energy vibrations and for overall health. I also use Shambhala Reiki for energy enhancement and for crystal charging. Good breathing techniques help a great deal, especially for meditation and prior to astral projection.

I use two main meditation techniques. One is a kind of healing technique, I have not studied yoga or any other techniques, I just go with what feels good for me. To start with I just generally relax, but I have found that if I concentrate on relaxing an aching muscle (usually my right shoulder) then it triggers total elaxation. When doing healing meditation I don't try to clear my mind, this tends to distract me? When I am totally relaxed I can induce pain relief that starts in my head (actually feels like its from my brain). This is in the form of a flow of energy or bodily chemical which I can feel flowing down my spine. Whatever it is, it 'washes' discomfort away as it flows form my head to my feet. This sounds very like the cleansing method that you use Ronni and it does feel great. The second method is a bit more transcendant. I do concentrate on clearing my mind for this technique, but not by thinking of nothing. I firstly relax totally and then I let my thoughts flow uninhibited but without dwelling on them, its just like watching them pass by without putting any importance on them. By doing this I enter a state of depth within myself, which is the state of seperation fron my physical being that I described in another post. This is a state that is difficult to describe, I feel like I'm in a vast space which I fill, feel like a giant. I call this an inner body experience as opposed to an OBE, which I have yet to experience. I am interested in learning new techniques and studies to develop my own, there is plenty of advice here, all I need now is to find the time! Keep searching, Sundog.

I use a pretty simple technique that i learned when i was young. I lay down tense all my muscles real tight for a few seconds. Deeply breath for about 3-5 minuttes and focus intently on every breath. Then I see a well or a box depending on what comes easier at the time. I climb (or float) up some steps, and I dump all my problems into the well, sometimes they pop right out! So then I have to use the box, and lock it. Once I have done that I focus every ounce of attention I have on my toes, creating a nice tingeling sensation. With every exhale I feel them get more and more relaxed. And when they are totaly relaxed, I can not feel them, so I move up into my feet, then my calves etc. When I get up to my root chakra, (mid-section) I vision a spinning and focus on the energy present. It can be an unpleasent, almost scarey sensation, or it can be very pleasent. I suppose it depends on how un-alligned you are. I try my best to allow this sensation to take its coarse. Sometimes I will inhale a nice red (chakra colour) and exhale a murky dirty red. That also helps. I don't dwell to long and I begin pulling myself up into the back area and relaxing it. I find it difficult to relax my stomach as I am breathing so I go through my back. I focus then on the next chakra and appropriate colour. And so on untill I get up to my brow. And there I stay for a long time, or as long as I can before being startled out of my focus. I often go over my body to find any tense areas that haven't seemed to relax and re-relax them. This gives me a buzz throughout my body that I just have to get everyday. When I get up I am so calm, so focused, and my problems just aren't so great anymore. I can see the energies of our world much clearer, and I love to stare up at the sky and moon. This is a good time to project too, if you can while aware. This is also a good time to perform magick, or to try to work out your psychic muscles as well. And I can't even stress enough how much energy is available from gemstones. Just amazing, you can feel them pulling at you and opening you up.
