Tai chi is a Chinese exercise system. It uses slow, smooth body movements to attain a state of relaxation of the body and mind. It is also a great energy building pratice, and can be felt throughout the body. It was developed as a self-defense strategy, or martial art, tai chi is called the "supreme ultimate fist" and is practiced mainly as a gentle exercise technique. If done often it improves muscle tone, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Many find that it boosts their energy, stamina, and agility, as well as sharpening their reflexes, and gives an overall sense of well-being. The calming and meditative art is a good stress relief. Here is a video that includes many steps in a continuous flow. You can break down the steps and do them individually, or learn the entire process. If anyone wants the steps broken down in shorter segments, just let me know and I will be happy to post them. As I do have them broken up myself. Thanks. home.ripway.com/2005-8/378095/TaiChi.zip

hey wow thats a great thing, in this little film so easily put, that could be interesting for Blake and Gav and others too. I never have seen or got such little fims, techniqual wonder lol.. some movements for me dont seem right, cause the knees go further than the toes, that would be a bit un-healthy for what I have learned, but probably its a style I dont know and maybe I couldnt recognize/see it in the right way - so there are million ways to do something and very sure taiji is a very wonderful and healing thing to do. lgn

Yes Nanni it is a different form. I know it looks like his knees were straight at a point as well, and from the lessons I've had it is said to keep them bent at all times. It is a form of TAI CHI CHUAN but I don't remember the exact type, as there are soo many. The video is a great way for people to get a very good start on the art though. I find it teaches you very good defense, and the slow movement will become fast, and trained responses, when the time comes to use them. Hopefully that time doen't come, and people only use it for relaxation, energy, and meditation purposes. In the video there are about 80 or move different steps in a continuous movement. Anyways enjoy!
