Hi
Do any of you kind people have any good techinques for meditating?
I seem to have trouble going into trance as something is always at the back of mind stopping me going over the brink.
I switch the phone off, turn the doorbell off etc but I always in the back of my mind think someone will knock, ring etc etc and it disturbs the meditation.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received! Thanks in advance Phil

hi philc, have you tried music with your meditations??? maybe have a look at some meditations on the board that we have up and choose one of those..maybe having a guided meditation will help you focus on what the guide is about instead of outside influences.

Hi philc, I`ve written about my favourite technique somewhere here, but for now to explain in short: I do chanting, OM buzzing, this grummeling should be as deep as its possible for your voice, an side-aspect of it is that it heals the inner organs like a massage. And as you are concentrated on this OM thinking and "singing" all other disturbances get into background. On top I sometimes put a sound CD, not too much melodies, just gongs and some sounds and underlay my own chanting. But it doesnt need anything else than your voice and regularily breathing. Not forcing anything, and not getting into hyperventialtion is the only thing one has to care about. In about 10 minutes Im really quite deep into a trance-like state and calm. I do it for 20 minutes for tuning me in and getting calm and well, then I keep on to just sit in silence, which after this, is so much more easy. I also do "chanting" with friends in a group, not regularily, but from time to time, this is an intensive and funny thing also to do together. lgn

Hi! philc, I don't recall seeing your name on here before. Are you new here? If so, first I give you a welcome. There is much information on this forum to help you out. I know it takes time to do all that reading and looking, heh. But man, it's worth digging for. Those Hypnosis tapes Leannian posted are fairly good at putting one into trance, esp. the ones with the binaurals. If you like something more rock music type try these: www.sonikalkemy.com/download_mp3.htmlYou can download them free. The ones without the green @ have binaural beats. They are a little to noisy for my taste, but I did like the "Winds of the Astral Matrix" one. There was a couple more of the calmer ones I liked, but don't remember which ones. I would say just try different things out to see what suits your fancy. Hope this was of help.

Sohum madra works very well for me. I also like to keep in the back of my mind that interuptions will occur but they are nothing more than an annoyance and dont really do any harm. This helps me to clear those background thoughts when i actually get started. I also start with an meditation technique where my eyes are open and i am looking at a single object of choice, than i "gently force" all thought out of my mind except for the object. This type of meditation also helps a great deal with seeing auras if your into that. Just in case you wondered i use an 8ball as the object.

Music works for me, something soft and low. I also use nature sound CDs.

I think all of the responses here pretty much cover what i would have said. I use Music sometimes when i need to. Definately music of nature. I have one called Butterfly which is a favourite. Meditation can also come in many forms, maybe a nice relaxing warm bath could help. Just lock the door and relax with soothing sounds, candles etc and allow your mind to drift, think whatever you like, you will eventually think nothing, Sometimes it takes a few nice warm Baths to achieve this. I think once you have acheived no interuptions a couple of times your anxiety will go. Maybe make up a sign "Toddler asleep Please come back at Such and Such a time". Put this on the front door. Works a dream. If it is a stranger they are not to know any different, if a friend they will respect this because they may think you have taken up an extra job. You may end up with lots of sticky notes on your door, but thats great as long as you get your peace. Create Me time for yourself.

I think my favorite is one of my X-tapes from Mind Trek, called "X3Infineon-Suspended Animation."

Thanks for the kind replies, sorry it's taken so long to reply but I lost the link to this forum! Thanks for the newletter Lilacsky otherwise I wouldn't have found it!
I am managing better in my meditation. Thankfully where I am living now is quieter and I can sit in my bedroom comfortably and meditate. I am using guided meditation at the moment until I am confident enough to go it alone so to speak.

Always use protection my friend. with how sensitive you are and the issues you have in the place you live meditation will be interupted often without it....In some cases the board you used can also continue to cause problems on occasion the entity you contacted will be a monkey on your back forever draining energy and antagoniseing. On most occurances the entity does NOT leave the location where the board was used. But its not 100%
