Your Welcome! And nothing wrong with asking.
You might check out your local metaphysical stores. They seem to always have one or two sitting around.

I personally don't see why not, Dancing Bear. It's just that the Tibetan bowls are renown for the vibrational healing qualities.

Frank Perry, on His website, talks about doing the same water filling techniques with the Tibetan Bowls to change the pitch and if I remember right He mentions a technique of "mouthing" the vibrations to absorb the sounds.

Ladybleu, I'm with you on liking the sounds of the lower sounding metal Tibetan bowls. There are crystal bowls that are more ear piercing in tones and are used in the same way (struck and rimmed) and are used to help "align" the chakra.
Osiris, Your correct as it is best to "feel and test" before buying it. Perhaps you should check out the website I posted. The owners go to Tibet and such and ship them back. But to buy one from them, you have to listen to the bowls until you find one that "fits" you because the owners believe that since the bowls are known to have healing properties, the bowls need to "fit" you in return. As a matter of fact, the bowl that I bought, I got from a local store that gets their bowls from that website.

so how much are these bowls you guys?? do you know the prices?? I own two Tibetan Singing Bowls. One was from a friend and so I don't know how much it was. But the other one was around $90. I believe that that is around the low price for them. When I bought mine there were several that were $200-400 that I would have loved to get. I just recently received from a friend a set of Ting shaws which are capable of the same things as a singing bowl. And as sxy pointed out Frank Perry is a great resource on hearing them and understanding them. I'll add www.bodhisattva.com/tibetan.htmYou can click on Tibetan Singing Bowls to read about the types of Bowls and then after selecting a choice, hear what one sounds like. You can also look at and listen to other ritual items.

I know Ejoty is studying Buddism i might Pm him and ask for his input to this.. Someone called my name? Yes, I am studying Buddhism. I'm following a Mahayana/Vajrayana group called The New Kadampa Tradition. They are a branch of Tibetan Buddhism. Now onto the subject of dreams. As far as I know...this group feels that dreams are a different reality and are not subconscious thoughts dealing with the day's events. To which I agree on. Now I know that those of you who believe in OBE's possibly use dream journals for help in remembering your dreams and that is what works for you and I accept that and don't judge you in any way for that. I do dream though I tend to forget them and the majority that I do remember tend to almost feel like an alternate reality. And the there are the ones that will stick with me... Those ones end up showing Future events in my life.

Funny thing is that a after over a year of Buddhist meditation techniques, I find it hard to do something like holding my breath while meditating. But other then that, it sounds like a wonderful meditation.

Have you (Dancing Bear, Ejoty, or Lunaspirit) found that people tend to keep the same personalities as they had from one life to the next? I don't remember where I saw it (I'll have to look around), but I thought I saw something like even though the environments and/or times may change how a person lives, the personality traits tend to stay the same from one life to the next. Being more experienced in this, do any of you have an opinion and/or knowledge on this? It's just something I've been interested in. Thanks. By the way, I've enjoyed what you've done with everyone here so far. Brilliant! As I'm just a novice and all, I can't say. My continual reoccurrence is that I see myself currently in the readings that I do… so I end up spending a bit of nail biting wondering if, as I post, that I actually reversed the reading onto myself. And Thank You Andin! … and of course all of you great guys&girls here have a wonderful christmas-time and also get some relaxing rest ay, you spirit-heart-workers:-) :-) :-) Thanks Nani, you and yours have a wonderful holiday time. And as my brain went off on a month long vacation without my body... I'm rested up and behind in my Readings! LOL!

TOMBO'S PAST LIFE READING OCTOBER 2006
Three lifetimes spread
This spread is for those who wish to experiment with the idea of reincarnation. It provides you with the information concerning unresolved aspects of your past. Once these elements are recognized, you can seek to modify your present situation, thus affecting both your future in this life and your next soul cycle.
Below is a diagram of the lay out.
************* Future Incarnation ************** * Future in this life ** Present ** Birth & childhood * ************** Past Incarnation ***************
Next is the life era, then the Rune Name, the Key words and last a close representation of the Rune image.
1.Birth & childhood ~ Rune Perth ~ Initiation, Something Hidden, A Secret Matter Looks like a tipped over cup so closest is a C
2.Present ~ Rune Gebo ~ Partnership, A Gift Looks like an X
3.Future in this life ~ Rune Kano ~ Openings, Fire, Torch Looks like <
4.Past Incarnation ~ Rune Berkana (reversed) ~ Growth, Rebirth, Birch Tree A capital B (reversed is upside down)
5.Future Incarnation ~ Rune Teiwaz (reversed) ~ The Warrior, Tiw-the Sky God An Arrow pointing up (reversed is down)
1.Birth & childhood ~
A hieratic or mystery Rune pointing to that which is beyond our frail manipulative powers. Perth is on the side of Heaven, the Unknowable, and has associations with the phoenix, that mystical bird which consumes itself in the fire and then rises from its own ashes. Its ways are secret and hidden. Powerful forces of change are at work here. Yet what is achieved is not easily or readily shared. After all, becoming whole – the means of it – is a profound secret. On the side of the earthy or mundane, there may well be surprises, gains or rewards that you did not anticipate. On the side of human nature, this Rune is symbolized by the flight of the eagle. Soaring flight, free from entanglement, lifting yourself above the endless ebb and flow of ordinary life to acquire broader vision – all this is indicated here. Another of the Cycle Runes, Perth stands at the heart of Initiation. Nothing external matters here, except as it shows you its inner reflections. This Rune is concerned with the deepest stratum of our being, the bedrock on which our destiny is founded. For some, Perth means experiencing a death. If need be, let go of everything, no exceptions, no exclusions. Nothing less then the renewal of the Spirit is at stake.
2.Present ~
Drawing this Rune is an indication partnership in some form is at hand. In love relationships, in business matters, in partnering of every kind, you are put on notice not to collapse yourself into that union. For true partnership is achieved only by separate and whole beings who retain their separateness even as they unite. Remember to let the winds of Heaven dance between you. At the same time, there is another aspect of partnership that you are being called to consider. For the path of partnership can lead you to the realization of a still greater union – union with the Higher Self, union with the Devine. The ultimate gift of this Rune is the realization of the Divine in all things: God always enters into equal partnerships. Gebo, the Rune of Partnership, has no Reverse, for it signifies the gift of freedom from which flow all other gifts.
3.Future in this life ~
This is the Rune of Opening and renewed clarity, of dispelling the darkness that has been shrouding some part of your life. You are free now both to receive gifts and to know the joy of non-attached giving. Kano is the Rune for the morning of activities, for seriousness, clear intent and concentration, all of which are essential at the beginning of any endeavor. One of the thirteen Cycle Runes, the protection offered by Kano is this: the more light you have, the better you can see what is trivial and outmoded in your own conditioning. In relationships, there can now be a mutual opening up which you may trigger and set in motion through your awareness that the light of understanding is once again available to you both. Recognize that while on the one hand you are limited and dependent, on the other you exist at the perfect center where the harmonious and beneficent forces of the universe merge and radiate. You ARE that center. Simply put, if you have been operating in the dark, there is now enough light to see that the patient on the operating table is yourself.
4.Past Incarnation ~
Events or, more likely, aspects of character interfere with the growth of new life. You may feel dismay at failing to take right action. But rather then dismay, what is called for here is diligence. Examine what has occurred, your role in it, your needs, the needs of other people. Are you placing your WANTS before the NEEDS of others? Strip away until you can identify the obstacles to growth in this situation. Then, penetrating gently, imitate the wind. You may be required to cultivate the soil once again, yet through correct preparation, growth is assured.
5.Future Incarnation ~
The danger is that through hasty or ill-timed action, life force leaks out or is spilled away. If an association is short-lived, do not grieve; know that it has fulfilled its span. Matters of trust and confidence are at issue here, and with them the authenticity of your way of being in the world. Reversed, Teiwaz calls for examining your motives carefully. Is it self-conquest with which you are concerned, or are you trying to dominate another? Are you lusting after outcomes, or are you focused on the task for its own sake? You will find the answers within yourself, not in outside advice. When you consult the Runes, you are consulting the Self, an action appropriate to the Spiritual Warrior.
~~
I’ll add to Dancing Bears
Birth & childhood ~ Rune Perth
This has a variety of meanings attached to it, ranging from “dance” to “hearth.” It is also associated with the magical powers of the earth, through an association with the Latin word “petra,” meaning “rock.” Additionally it is associated with the vulva and so it bears an association with Freya, the mother of the god and a symbol of female sexuality, and sometimes of birth. Perth’s primary meaning is that of initiation, of things that are hidden and unexplained and of the workings of the fate, which leads to its association with the Nornir (the shapers). Perth is also the Rune of memory, recollection, and problem solving. As a Rune of mystery, it reveals hidden things and secret or occult abilities. Its appearance often refers to the disclosure of some sort of secret. In general terms, Perth refers to mysteries, the occult psychic abilities, and revelation.
Present ~ Rune Gebo
This Rune means “gift,” although the nature of the gift remains ambiguous. It is unclear whether it refers to the sacrifice of humanity to the gods or the bounty of the gods to man. It is often translated to mean generosity. Gebo is often associated with Odin or Freya. As the gift Rune, Gebo is concerned with mutual and unselfish giving. It represents the ability to sacrifice without expecting anything in return. Gebo also symbolizes the connection between the gods and men.
Future in this life ~ Rune Kano
A variety of meanings have been attribute to this Rune, including “torch,” or “light,” “boil,” “abscess,” and “ulcer”. The most common attribution is “torch,” although several sources do associate Kano with some form of discomfort or disease. It is also associated with cremation.
Past Incarnation ~ Rune Berkana (reversed)
In its negative form, Berkana may represent infertility, and it can also indicate sickness for yourself or for someone else around you who needs to be cared for. It often indicates an unfortunate domestic situation, fraught with arguments, and in the worst cases it can indicate too much sacrifice or martyrdom.
Future Incarnation ~ Rune Teiwaz (reversed)
Teiwaz is the Rune of Tyr, the god of war, giver of victory and protector from harm. Wolfsbane, or “Tyr’s helm,” was used on arrowheads as a poison and was reputed to be a principal ingredient of witches’ flying ointments. Tiwaz is also identified with the “Spear Rune” that an aging warrior supposedly cut into his own flesh so that he might enter Valhalla. It is commonly found on English cremation urns.
In it’s negative form, Tiwaz may represent cowardice, weakness, and the lack of initiative. It suggests defeatism, or perhaps conflict where there should be harmony. it may indicate a rigid nature of the kind that doesn’t listen to others or to sense. It indicates failure in any context or competition, which may be the result of giving up too easily when difficulties occur or acting in haste.
I think I covered it all. Tombo, if you have any questions, be sure either to post, PM or Email either of us.
